I can almost hear the music to this one. I would feel sorry for anyone who has these as their best friends but I can't deny that this would make a great country song.

Regrets that I am out of sixes. I was reading and attempting to put this to a country music melody, but this doesn't need to be a song, as it stands alone (well, wobbly of course) on its own. Great job.

I love the lyrics and the chorus and was singing throughout the read.

Very funny and a bit sad at the same time. I love the three names that bring them together as friends. It is interesting how many things did or did not happen due to his "friends". That is why I find this funny and sad. Good luck in the contest.

Thank you Therese, I'm glad you liked it. There are so many hooked on either drugs or alcohol. You're right, it is sad. I have a glass of wine prior to bed. It seems to help me sleep.

This definitely sounds like it could be sung. The humor comes through the personifying, and it is not light humor. My favorite line for the internal rhyme was: I forget all my troubles, when I'm filled with doubles

Thanks, Crystie. so glad you enjoyed. Thanks for the stars. I did have it recorded but, in my moving, I lost the tape. I wrote it several years ago. I'm not a drinker myself, except for qlass of wine before bed, I find it helps me sleep with my PTSD.
