You're saying 'unbelief' is a sure recipe for damnation.
I can't believe that.
Faith is not a choice. No one 'decides' to have faith. One has it, or doesn't. Though many people pretend to be believers just to fit in. I believe pretending to have faith is more sinful than simply owning up to being a nonbeliever.

The notion that only Christians can be saved doesn't sound like a Christian belief to me.

Peace, Lee

Well Lee, you are of course entitled to your opinion. However, the opinion you stated here is in direct opposition to the most basic teachings of Christ regarding faith and salvation from sin.

Why not try the seven day test and see for yourself what Christ actually said? The test I am speaking of is to read 3 Chapters of the Gospel of John a day for 7 days. At the end of each session, you answer a few questions.

If you do this, you will at least see the contrast between what you now believe and what Jesus Christ said.
    So what do you say?

In any case, thanks for reviewing. Best to you, Dennis

I love your fire for the Lord... And I agree with you whole-heartedly. Great Scripture quoting... how is the need to believe the flip side of repent? You don't need to answer me, I'm just wondering if you should have explained that more in your writing. Thanks for your courage!

Well, your fervor surely shines through. These indeed are the rules I've so often heard. Not sure what you mean by belief being the flip side of repent. An nteresting image nonetheless. Cheers. LIZ

Thanks, repentance essentially means changing one?s mind from what we naturally assumed about unseen things to believing what Christ taught about sin, salvation and His sacrifice on our behalf.
Repentance without believing in Christ is void of power to change our lives. God bless, Dennis

I think you're right about repentance, when members of my life group, worry that they are not serving God the way He would like, I simply say "Do you love God?" They always look aghast and say, "of course" I say, "that's the first commandment, everything springs from that. Every sin is already dealt with in Christ." Well done brother Dennis, blessings, Roy
