White Knights are rare, but sit tight because they do exist and they are worth waiting for Elizabeth! I was lucky to have known one and now looking for a second! Ha ha ha, you made me smile, love Dolly x

Thanks for another delightful visit Dolly. Meanwhile, I content myself with a man as flawed as I am (far from fatally, thankfully).

With such elegant words, penned and crafted with care, that knight is on his way. Is that a knock I hear at your door? Good luck in the contest. Beautiful. Stay safe and well. x

A fascinating piece. I get the picture of honour. Like knights and samurai who despite the odds they face, stand to their last breath, never faltering, never once thinking of betrayal. Please do add some more context in the author's notes.
Cheers,
George

Thanks George--I'll update the note to say: This is about that metaphorical knight (so trite!) that we women pine for to no avail. Cheers. LIZ

Enjoyed this piece a lot. Yes, our old dreams are defiant - and that is good! They refuse to be buried ... and are forever deferred. How many of us can identify with that clever piece of writing! Well done!

Every woman dreams of her knight in shining armor. They are so courageous. Their armor standing alone and empty in museums keep them alive forever.
Keep writing and stay healthy.

A nice post for the 20 word contest and the picture compliments the poem very well. Not many will rhyme but you have done a good job with the rhyme in this poem also. Not an easy job with one so short. Great job on this entry.

I can't remember who wrote that great quote, hope springs eternal. And I'm sure there's someone waiting in the wings to make a grand entrance, beautifully written, dear girl, blessings Roy

Odd, that I wasn't notified of this. But glad I checked.
Great job with this 20 word poem, neatly packed 5 words per line. And it feels a bit sad that the dreams are "deferred" but perhaps the dreams didn't get realized so that they linger and haunt the present.
Best wishes in the contest!

Ah... Yes, many still hope for the knight in shining armor to gallop in their lives on the white stallion (smile). Dreams die hard, and I guess, for some, that dream does come through. Sometimes, though, we have look for an inner beauty in our knights, because too many fall for a facade.
A wonderful entry in that contest, great artistic presentation and artwork, good luck in the booths!

All elements here. Why do old dreams have to die? Especially this one! There are at least two knights in shining armour out there somewhere...
Lovely art, coloring, topic relevant to many readers :)
Well done!

Sigh...maybe we could forget the knights and go for the king?
