That was a beautiful poem. Plenty people turn to God. However, sometimes... We all need a sign. This a wonderful story. Unfortunately relatable to this reader. Keep up the great work :)

Thank you for sharing your timely poem focused on hope. I believe you were describing your own enlightenment. I relished your images of the "ocean" and the "leaf" and the idea of having been "sovereign" to being "without a moon". Well done and best wishes in the contest- Joan

It's true that when we're young we don't see the forest for the trees - or something like that - we're almost blinded by the bright lights - good poem to point out the progression of youth to aging.

This is very interesting. It seems that he was doing great things in his youth. One day those things that inspired no longer did. Something happened and he was having a hard time finding his way until the leaf in his hand appeared. A simple thing really that opened up a whole new world to him. I like the message of this and enjoyed reading this inspirational and well written work. Well done!
