I pray you are recovering nicely. Thanks for the update. Your words flow with good rhymes, good imagery, and a good message. The picture is hard to look at it, but I know it must be getting better. Thanks for the notes, too. Respectfully, Jan

Thanks so much Jan for the great review. Yes the head got better after this. Robyn Corum did a review and I was doing a cut paste of my response for some of my reply....I only have one little spot on my head that did not heal up and it is covered with a smaller dressing but the Doc said I can take it off and shower and get Louise to replace it after. Promise last time for awful pic.

I liked your humorous "bird barfs" comment. So glad you can shower again and feel human. Hope and pray that you continue to fully heal. Blessings to you and Louise!

I broke my foot about three weeks ago and had to have surgery. For the first week after surgery I couldn't get it wet. It was an adventure and I only had one battle wound. I couldn't imagine two! I can now get it wet but it's still an adventure because I can't put weight on it. Kind of dangerous but at least I'm clean now.

Geoff,

Bless your sweet soul! I know I would go NUTS! And I have no idea what my poor hubby would do -- he takes two showers a day on average. STEAMING HOT ones.

Bless you! I don't know how you managed to put up with this for so long without going nuts! But the good thing is that it's OVER!!! I bet that shower felt magical. hahaha

Thanks for sharing!

Thanks Robyn, it sure did. I now have a little tiny dressing on one small part of the wound that is a bit slow healing up but the doc said I can take it off for a shower and Louise can replace it afterwards.

You poor dear. I'm so sorry and I feel like more could be done that your doctor is not telling you. Does he/she not see the problem here? There are way to cleanse this area to keep dandruff at bay. The itch must be terrible. When you do wash, whether shower or bird bath, a natural shampoo with rosemary in it can help. I made my own rosemary water when I had shingles for two months and it was in my hair. I did my final rinse with the healing, cooled water. It felt so nice and soothing. Check out natural cures for dandruff online. Drink organic apple cider vinegar. Mix one tablespoon in a cup of tea with honey. It's anriviral and antimicrobial. You need both. Apple cider vinegar is great for many things and ailments. Thanks for the post and for keeping me in the loop.
Sending you my best today as always and best wishes for the contest,
Sally xoxo

Thanks Sis for the "holistic health" advice. My brother used to drink cider vinegar years ago maybe for pimples or something. I could not wash my head because of the dressing. All good now excpet for (a little cut paste from my response to Robyn Corum above)...I now have a little tiny dressing on one small part of the wound that is a bit slow healing up but the doc said I can take it off for a shower and Louise can replace it afterwards.

I loved ;your poem with the Aussieisms and everything. Is that a word. It should be. Anyway, I'm happy you were finally able to get a full bath. I've not heard of a bird bath meaning your definition. We call that a spit bath.

Thanks Beth for the lovely review. Just as well I did a lot of explanation and clarification. Hope folks will all vote when the contest closes.

I don't think we get to vote on this one. The contest committee selects the winner. The prize is $100 cash. Good luck.

I had a cancer removed from my leg just before I went to the US, some years ago now, and I had to wear a plastic thing around my leg, but that was the closest I've come to not having a shower Geoff. An excellent poem my friend, good luck and thanks for keeping up, well done, blessings, Roy

That must have been a marvellous feeling to have a proper shower after so long. I would have stayed under for ages just revelling in being to do so. Take care, both of you, with this virus.
