Wonderfully wry and whimsical. Love the visual undulations. Encompasses, elicits, and convolutes fornication. That about says it all. Ah, love! Well done, sly one. Cheers. LIZ

Your poem conveys a powerful message about love, what passes for love, lust for sex, lust for control, need, neediness--the tangle they can all become. Sooner or later, many people detangle them and find real love.

Sex and love are so simple yet like wine, must be appreciated and finished off. Then, it will be refilled again and again. Love-- I say drink it down and say yes to more. It's the best part of life.
Sending you my best today as always,
Sally xo

What a lovely love letter. Intercourse sounds so harsh, yet to make love, true love, is the greatest gift one can give to another. It's a time when we want to make our partner reach the highest of heights, and fall back into the arms of the giver. Love has to be there to make it perfect. Well done, Victor, this was a really lovely poem. :)) Sandra xx

You do have many and all of them are valid. You have penned many a lovely situation experienced by most and doubled down on how sex has evolved here in our modern days. Yup, sure is!

Back in my day, a guy was attracted to a girl's tits, (as they were called back then,) tried to get in her pants, but her girdle was way too much of a hurdle, so at some point he fell in love with her because the girls who were hard to get were the best prizes. They married and had kids.

lust-> love -> legitimate children.

"To reproduce is one of a mammal's four basic drives."

Forty-seven years ago my brother impregnated a career woman who just wanted a child, but didn't want to be bothered with a husband. She chose him for his blue eyes. I have a niece out there whom I never saw. Don't even know her name. Not sure my brother does.Today, career women just go to a sperm bank and pick what they want from the gene pool. As a matter of human rights, I wonder, does the potential father get to choose the physical traits of his child's mother? Just wondering. Six stars for allowing my brain to fulfill a little wanderlust.

Chuckle, and sad too. I'm afraid I'm still attracted to a woman's "attributes." LOL Thank you much, dear.

Hello Victor - this is a very beautiful love letter. You start off with good use of metaphor - the empty glass... Sexual intercourse has gone beyond just the need to reproduce. I particularly like -
Only for
a few precious seconds
does the intimacy of love
allow a melding
of the one complete soul
torn apart,
so long ago........ lovely lines.
Your final stanza - Oh my, will the night hold my quill's aspirations? LOL!
Good Luck - regards Dorothy

I liked your views on how sex has become more of a "job" to reproduce rather than something to be enjoyed. I also liked how you began with the glass and then worked your way back around to it.

I think that you wrote a amazing poem that real defines the meaning of love. I love how you wrote that sex has evolved more than lust and love defies logic. These are all the signs of someone in love. Great poem!
