This is so true. Pride is a deadly sin and the Word says, Pride Cometh before a fall. And that is what happened to Satan. I liked the rhyme too. The poem reads smoothly as well.
Nice work.

Hello Portia, this is very well written in good rhyming couplets throughout. You describe the sin of Pride perfectly. 'Then robs God of Glory,' - do you think anyone can rob God of glory?' - he is omnipotent. They disregard his word without a sweat, I would think. A good thoughtful poem and I enjoyed the read. Love Dorothy xx

    Hello Dorothy,

Thanks so much for your review and very wise comments.
No man can ever rob God of His Glory, but Satan tried and Satan right now in instilling fear into man with this virus. But we must remember God's word, "God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind." Now is the time for all to pray.
May God continue to keep you and your family in His loving care.

I appreciate this well written poem that encourages us to repent of pride and give God the credit for everything good in our lives. Thanks for the reminder that he is the one who should get the honor. Thanks for sharing and stay safe. Bill

Pride in any human activity brings in disaster at the end for it is like Satan does not know how to praise God and a pride goer claims glory at his own, disregarding God's glory; well said, well done; Pray to God save mankind, you and me from pandemic Coronavirus, 10 members may load @$21 MD gift to my account, save my ATB posts making my Premier Shield Upgrade for this and after this life at $210 MD; thanks for this eternal and spiritual message deserves for a 6-star rating but I do not have any to offer.

"All About Pride", is an extremely well-written and spiritually-uplifting piece. This talented poet's work was a pleasure to both read and review. To me, this is a six, but sadly I've run out of them. I look forward to seeing your next post.

I think this is an excellent entry for a poem on deadly sins. Pride, I believe as your poem states, is the deadliest. It caused Satan to be cast out of heaven, and caused a third of the angels to follow him in this very dangerous and deceptive sin. God bless you and your entry.

Pharp,
I think, you selected the deadliest of the 7 sins. Nice title and image used for your poem. I like how you were able to descibe the actions of the emotional state, "Pride." It's often associate with being proud and arrogant. Yes, Pride can be poisonous and has a way of hurting others when used. When people let pride rule them, they tend to be conceited. You used two powerful words, "self-glorification" to describe pride in your poem. this is a nice line, "Then robs God of Glory, without a sweat." God hates prideful people, yet Satan loves it. Great job in describing this emotion. The structure was layed out nicely in your poem. I love the ending. Thanks Good job!!
Keep writing:-)

Beautifully written Portia, you are so right my friend. Pride is the opposite of what God requires of us, and He is the only one deserving of our praise, and even for us doing anything in His, simply because all the glory belongs to Him. Beautifully written my dear friend, blessings and encouragement to you. Roy,

Your final rhyme, I think says it all. "Pride is quite deadly in many ways...
Like Satan, it refuses to give God Praise" Of all the deadly sins, pride may be the one most damaging and interfering in terms of our relationship with God. I love the picture.
