Just a little space trivia from the rocket scientist that dwells in the heart of Yvette. LOL And why is it that you went into mathematics instead of science when you started teaching in high school?

Actually, I've always LOVED math -- my dad convinced me that to get a degree in math was not as marketable as a degree in Physics (okay, looking back I raise an eyebrow cuz he has a PhD in Physics... lol!) so I got the Physics one. But math? Math is my passion (and fantasy!) ... ;) :)

The fiery yang makes way for the cool yin at night, allowing the evening mist to refresh and renew us before another day begins. Balance of nature - we can learn from it

I think this is a good entry for the 2-6-2 writing prompt.
This short piece tells of sunbeams and moonbeams.
Well done and I wish you good luck with the contest.

I believe you have meet the requirements of a 2-6-2 poem.

I would much rather a moonlit walk through the trees than a day of sunshine.

Best of luck in the 2-6-2 writing contest.

Nice 's' alliteration with sunshine and softens. I could say there is some 'm' consonance, or nearly so, with nighttime and moonbeam(s) or one could call it 's' consonance with softens, moonbeams. Really striking art choice, too. Almost transported to another time of day! Perfect syllabic count.

A very well-written 2-6-2 poem about the sunshine that softens the nighttime light with silvery moonbeams produced by the reflection of the sun on the moon surface.

This is beautiful! That the moonbeams are really reflected sunlight. So true, but we don't think of it that way. And to continue the analogy, God wants us to reflect his light in the same way.

That's so wonderfully said, I love it. I love how you can paint such a clear picture in so few words. All in all, I really enjoyed reading this poem and I think this is an awesome entry.

Exactly!! And sometimes I am amazed at people who are grown ups and still dont know that the moon is merely a reflective agent and its light also comes from the sun itself! Without the sun, both are days and nights shall be lost in darkness forever! The sun is what helps us distinguish between the day and the night!
Really liked your entry and I wish you my best for the contest as well :-)
