Awe, Sally, this is just too romantic. It's well written and even though it's impossible romantic, you made it very believable. So Joe and Julia got two years as a gift. It was a great story. Ulla xxx

Ah, thank you, dear Ulla. I am the impossible romantic. My oldest brother had this type of cancer. I saw him just a few days before he died and he was up walking around and brewed me a cup of coffee. I was able to kiss and hug my bubba goodbye. He had been in remission for a while, then it came back. My mother died very quickly from the same type as she was 80. We did a lot of unfinished business in those last moments. We laughed, cried, looked at pictures, and told stories. I try to bring some of this into the Letters From Heavens Gateway series. Regret of what they didn't do in the "love department" was their biggest issues. So glad you like.
Sending you my best today as always,
    Sally xoxo

-Very nice image and excellent story, Sally.
-It is developed well with good
description, dialogue, and letters.
-After Joe's heartfelt letter, I like how you
show Julia and her thoughts about Brian.
-She doesn't seem to be vested in that relationship
because thoughts of Joe were on her mind.
-A very nice scene between Julia and her dad.
-The last scene is very special in many ways:
the reunion of Joe and Julia, marriage proposal,
and a surprise about her father having known.
-But best of all, they had more time, and
devoted it to each other, as well as
helping children dealing with cancer.
-A good ending!
-Well done.

Sally this story moved me. My name is Jose or Joe but that's not the reason. If life has to intervene and take a love one from my heart I know that it would hurt. You got to me. :)

Thank you, my dear poet. You are so kind to me. I fashioned this to resemble you and set it in Texas. I imagine you are very in love with your wife of many years. My oldest brother Mike had cancer that went into remission for a year and then it came back to take his life. I was able to see him and kiss him goodbye. I visited Mike for a whole day and he hardly seemed ill, to the point where I thought surely he had been misdiagnosed. He died two days later. It's crazy how love can revive a person. He confessed to me all his regrets as we laughed and cried for hours. I use my real life experiences as I have lost several family members and most recently an infant granddaughter. Life and love matter so much. I'm glad you enjoyed this and thought it six worthy. I am blessed, Jose. Thank you, again.

I thought I'd had all the romance knocked out of me but I really enjoyed your story, it was romantic without being too "Rose Coloured Glasses" and you painted your characters with sure brush strokes, making them believable.

Overall this was an interesting read, but in several places the story line became tangled, and the text stilted (the characters didn't have rock-solid structures).
Also, a lot of new information was crammed into the end section, which was hard to assimilate.

Thank you for the review. At his time, I will be saying goodbye to you, as your ability to leave a kind and helpful review is sadly lacking.

Sally, what an absolutely amazing story. I was spellbound the entire time. You made it so real I had to look back at the top to see if it was fiction.
Bravo, my friend. It is so full of emotion and honest love that it stirred my heart.

Great job,
Rhonda

This is a very nicely composed love story that I enjoyed reading and you described well. Sometimes there is hope for couples to reunite after a long separation or divorce. Marilyn

Sally,
Truly a great story. Of course it is very well written with a powerful message that love is ever-present in our lives and God and those who love us is ready to offer second chances.
My admission to you is I fully expected to have to grab the tissues, but never did. I think it's because I was expecting the waterworks. You are just too good at these wonderful love stories.
Blessings to you Sally,
Stay well Friend,
Beth

    Sally,
Do you mean the pretty gal in the picture?? Thank you that is quite a compliment. It's funny, my husband's name is Joseph, but he goes by his middle name Andy. So that would have been something.
    Have a lovely evening.
    Such strange times.
My poor children are starting to ask a lot of questions and we are just trying to keep things as interesting and fun as possible at home.
    Blessings,
    Beth

Yes, the pretty gal and the picture and you! Look in the mirror, girlfriend. You're gorgeous inside and out. I love your sweet spirit which permeates to the outside, too. This is true beauty. xoxo

What a bittersweet story, Sally. I enjoyed reading it, though, it is poignant. You did a great job detailing the situation and the circumstances of the separation and reunion of the two lovers. Julia's dad was a great character. I'm thrilled there will be no more touring for Joseph as he and Julia spend precious time together. Thanks for sharing. Respectfully, Jan
