You and me both, Shirley. The UK is sinking, we'll soon disappear with the amount of rain we're having. Your words say it all, my friend. Oh to be able to go for a nice walk, without being drowned on. Summer is around the corner, hopefully! Well done, my friend, and good luck in the contest. :)) Sandra xx

Sandra, thank you so much. It was a dreary afternoon, but the morning was so promising! By the way, I am Marjon, not Shirley. It is of no importance, lol.

hello, Marjon van Bruggen,

.....Trapped Inside.... is a good entry for the 2-2-5-7-5 March weather frustration.

Good syllable count. The poem doesn't flow well at the end. I know you are trying to make the syllable form fit but there may be another way.

Good job,

gypsy

    Hi Gypsy,
Thank you. I think you are right. In the meantime, I have changed the last line in: "of a dark, drowned walk" Looks and sounds better.

Every now and the, we all feel trapped and feel like we need to get out and away from our troubles. Personally, I would love to open my extra-large multi-colored umbrella, and take a walk in down pouring rain. I would sing, "Just walking in the rain / Getting soaking wet."

Thaities, Thank you! No, I don't share your love for walking in the rain. (the song...yes!) But this morning there was a nice sun and I had been looking forward to a shiny and warm walk. No luck!

God sometimes sends us little taps on the shoulder. I live in Thailand, and the weather is just turning beastly hot. April is the hottest month. Anyway, yesterday a tropical storm blew in with loads of rain, strong destructive winds, and hail! This is the second time in 47 years I have seen such a thing.

We have the hottest month in August, People here leave the island (Mallorca) from midday to evening to the tourists and have a long siesta.

I like how you make the reader use his imagination to visualize this scene. I see the Speaker inside her bright kitchen with pink walls and "fussy white curtains" frowning as she gazes out a "wet window" dripping with rain drops. Nothing disillusions me faster than blustery Winter. Rod

I know the feeling. It has rained a lot here lately and when I have outside plans I feel trapped inside too. You 2-2-5-7-5 poem paints a good picture of being trapped. The illustration is perfect.

It is never a good thing when we would love to go out for a walk that it is raining. I do most of my walking inside our rather large house. So far this morning I have walked over 1 mile to help with my goal of 3.5 miles a day and over 100 miles a month.
