It is raining here all the time lately also. I live in upstate northeastern New York, about 30 miles from Canada. It's either raining or snowing every day lately. I'm yearning for flowers and sun. Your poem is lovely. I love the last line, dark drowned walk.Your image is great also. Good luck in the contest!

I think you have met the requirements for the 'All my left over 2-2-5-7-5s writing' contest.
Amazing the 'downs' a rain can cause. It often 'downs' me... But when I was younger, we had a tin roof. The whole family would go to the back porch adn have a serenaded picnic! Thanks for the memories!!!

I believe it is true that's your state of mind can be quite commanding and compelling when it comes to the weather. For some of us, it takes a great deal of strength to get ourselves out into the elements. Good luck in the contest.
