Hello Amada,
You've written an wonderful haiku for the contest
in the traditional 5-7-5 format with excellent imagery
and connection in the first two lines.
Good use of the em dash as a kireji cutting symbol.
The snow is a fine kigo suggesting winter or early spring.
Excellent reflective satori line.
You have all of the elements of a very fine haiku. Well done
Best wishes in the contest
Robert

I liked the oriental feel of the perfect balance, the nature image was great, and the epiphany moment was there too. Nice job with this. We have that great sense of winter slowly giving way in fits and starts to spring. I liked the echoing effects of 'snow' and 'repose' estory

A very well-written haiku about the last winter snow covering the red roses who couldn't wait for Spring to finally arrive.

A lovely way to look at slumbering beauty waiting to return in all their glory. I cannot wait for my roses to bloom again. Perfect example of a haiku accompanied by great artwork.

I've never seen so much snow on roses. Interesting. Splendor in repose is a great turn of phrase.
Glad you wrote about roses. I was once told by a man that I was a rose among thorns. I've never gotten.

"Winter snow and rpses" A little proofing... so easy to miss.
I fear for the roses this spring, with the winter waiting and waiting to come, I suspect we will see snow on the buds this year.
Your picture was well chosen.
Best of luck in the Haiku Poetry Contest contest.

The dormant phase of winter is necessary for all four seasons to work and we just have to be patient for those red roses to rebirth, much enjoyed, love Dolly x
