I really like this one. It makes me think of my rose bushes in my garden.
And even though I live in a warmer climate you make me envision the melting snow.

Nicely written Haiku, The images brought forth by the words, blanket and splendor in repose, really work well together. And then the image showing the budding red roses, just adds to the image painted in our minds, by the reading of your poem. Wish you well, God bless.

This is a very lovely haiku. 5-7-5 well done. Roses with snow a nice picture. Here we have six feet of snow no flowers until May. A great entry for the contest, Laura.

I think plants look prettier with snow on it. This reminds us of the fight between the seasons in March and April. It also gives us hope of the color and life Spring brings.
Good luck and keep writing

Amada,
I like the way you brought the rose to life in the dead of winter. The rose isn't dead, it's simply at rest awaiting its coming splendor. You chose perfect words for your excellent haiku! Thanks for sharing.
