Hello Sugarray77, a terrific Tuesday to you. I hope this finds you well. Thank you for sharing your poem, I think you used the 3 lines well. You are right, they too shall pass, as all things come to pass. Good job and good luck in the contest.

I love antiques. There is something very comforting about them, having survived the various crises they've observed in the passage of time. This is an insightful and Inspiring piece, Melissa.

Hi June. Thank you so very much. I love antiques too and feel like they are steeped in history ~ survivors, if you will. Much appreciated!

Hello Melissa!
Hah!
How perceptive!
I love antique clocks. I actually own quite a few. (But thank goodness, they all do not work!)
Creative and well-executed!

Best Wishes!
diane

Hi Diane. Thanks so much Diane... I am glad to learn you like antiques too. We have many, but no clocks... they say of US military families that are stationed in Germany... you either come home with a clock or a baby ~ it was a baby for us. LOL

    What?
    No Hummel figurines?

I bet it's beginning to look like Spring in your part of the world. We are still "up to our eyeballs" in snow!

    Be well!

Haha, not a single Hummel, but a set of china from kaiser, polish pottery, and a babe in the oven... about 25 years ago.. time flies... by the way, I?m in to dishes. I love to assemble tablescapes and post on FB ~ a new hobby. :)

Melissa,

This is a most timely piece of poetry. Now I know you are into Persian culture per my Internet look (-;

"This too shall pass" is a Persian adage translated and used in multiple languages. It reflects on the temporary nature, or ephemerality, of the human condition.

Of course, there is only two times in a day that a broken clock is accurate LOL

A terrific overall presentation for this contest.

Mark

P.S. For "sure" I may have used "and."

Hi Mark. Thanks so much. I did not know that the phrase was of Persian origin. I enjoyed learning that tidbit. So glad you like it, my friend.

Sugarray, this is a good reflective entry for the 3 line poem contest. I really like the picture and, from that, could not help myself from playing around with the words. This is what came to mind...and food for thought.

antique clocks observe
troublesome times with patience...
a moment in time

Good luck in the contest. ~DD

A succinct and accurate view of time. As Macbeth says in Act 1 Sc3, 'Come what, come may, time and the hour runs through the longest day.' It is much the same as Che sera sera. So those clocks are right.

Hi Jim, yes, Shakespeare had some good insight with this quip. Here in the States.. between the election, Coronavirus and a mild winter... everything seems skewed!! Thanks for your thoughts!!
