Lol, I've done that myself. When you dress in haste, it's an easy mistake. I only found one nit, and I still have a six, so I'm glad to be able to give it to you. I hope you had a lovely Christmas, and you're managing to keep safe.

Alexis xxx

you decided to take me on a short trip(.)to the beach for a few days.

Thank you for all the lovely sixes you are giving me. That wasn't the only time I put something on the wrong way. LOL I did have a lovely Christmas with family. However one daughter was sick and hasn't been tested. I kept my distance, but I'm hoping there were too many germs in the room. I hope a your holiday is going well, and that you enjoyed Christmas with your family.

Oh goodness, we are really waking up to smoke when someone goes to sleep when smoking a cigarette. On top of it, he is a heavy drinker. I hope you enjoyed your vacation.

Our vacations were usually short. I know I was glad to be able to get away from the smell of smoke and give everything a chance to air out.

This is your best written post so far although fortunately, I have no parallel in my life. I did hear verbal abuse from Mom to Dad sometimes, but she hung in there.

Thank you for the review. I'm surprised that you are reading the those I posted a while back. I 'm glad that you are willing to read it as I posted it but you are missing the two that are still paying. I appreciate your reviews and comments. I feel like you are a good friend.

I enjoyed reading your memoirs and didn't find anything to suggest that would improve it. I'm sure your children and grandchildren will love having such a detailed family history.

And it's beautifully written, Beth. We've all had our difficulties in our life and marriages and I'm sure your children and grandchildren will one day nod and learn. And most importantly, that our generation is not so different from theirs. I'm looking forward to reading on. Ulla:)))

Thank you so much for the review and comments. I'm surprised that young people seem to be able to identify with my generation. They have their share of problems but they are different in many ways.

Yes, they are, but the fundamentals are the same. At least, I believe so.

I am glad you can look back at those times and remember them as good times. I can understand your mom's thinking. I have often wondered how my mom put up with my father's controlling attitude, but times were different then, I am enjoying reading.

Thank you so much for the review and comments. So things weren't so good at the time but they were an adventure and I can look back and some and laugh.

Ha, Ha, Ha, In your rush you donned you pants inside out. I can see that happening. Knowing the house was on fire would scare the bejiggers out of anyone. This was an eventful time with your grandma's death and Grandpa living with your parents only to have your Mom leave but return later. You needed a vacation. LOL Nancy:)

You didn't exactly have life easy when you were young Beth. You are brave for writing this, and you are shooting from the hip. It was life as it really was, with no punches pulled. Things were a little like that in those years, it's funny in the light of hindsight, it seemed normal then, but woman needed help to equalise, but like most things, the pendulum swings too far. Well done, I'm enjoying your biography, blessings, Roy

Thank you so much for the review and comments. I guess it wasn't easy but being young made it sort of an adventure. I can appreciate the good things more now.

Wow! It amazes me how so many things were simultaneously happening in your life and that of people close to you as well. This chapter made up for a specially good read! The family drama, the lack of communication, learning about things late and then everything going on towards a reconciliation between your parents...all true events! Love the way your telling your life's tale :-)

Thanks for sharing these tumultuous times! I think even today, the number of divorces increase for couples with kids in college. I think the pants being inside out was the least of your worries after that fire.
