What a beautiful poem, filled with love, longing, reminiscence and pathos. You set the scene beautifully, laying out the fun and loving times they shared, and relating each to a loud sound, making that final quiet about which the narrator complains that much harder to bear. This is a great entry for the contest, and I wish you luck in the voting.

A very well-written poem about watching someone in their sick bed is a long time of silence when we see them sleeping and we can't do anything for them but watch their quiet face in silence.

Very sweet poem. . .I do hope he woke up and gave the nurses hell. :) Nice photo to accompany your well-written poem. Best of luck to you in the contest. :)
