I don't understand why I don't have the choice of rating 6 stars anymore. You certainly earned that with this "Life of a penny".
What a fantastic poem, such an adventurous life this penny from 1942 had, the travels it made, the things it saw, and sweets it bought. I followed your penny through all its endeavors.

Very insightful write. The truth behind the events theoretically be true to some extent. Your piece brings back thoughts as a child counting my piggy bank and coming across a grimy penny. The discoloration and the years indicated by the year had my young mind racing with wonder regarding those dirty coins. Your piece sums up those innocent memories perfectly.
