Yes, it is certainly a worthwhile and heartfelt prayer.... if all sides are willing to allow the healing to take place... Thanx for sharing your heart and best of luck in the contest! :)

Therese,
A perfect example how a few words can describe the feeling that many share in our great country. Miss Liberty would not be happy with what is happening. Hopefully, she will confront that New Yorker President in some way!

Amen! I have had it with him!

What a marvelous prayer in only six words, conveying what I feel these days, especially after watching the last debate and its aftermath. Sadly, there seems to be no healing in sight. Rod

I know - everything seems so futile. I have always been so proud of America.....

"A Wounded Country", is short, succinct and very much to the point. With a minimum of words, this talented poet's work was a pleasure to read and review. I look forward to seeing your next post.

Amen! I don't know what I can say about the beauty of these simple words of prayer. Your Statue of Liberty wrapped in the flag is the perfect compliment. Good luck in the contest.

I have to agree with you, Therese. I'm Canadian, but I've followed the impeachment trial of Mr. Trump with a great deal of interest. I can't understand why people voted for him. But I'm beginning to understand that (for many) he is the lesser evil, believe it or not. You'd think there would be one terrific candidate in such a huge nation. The only thing to do is pray about it. But so many people have turned from God these days. I'm afraid Trump will get elected for another 4 years. One thing for sure, the country is wounded. That's a great way to describe it.
Good Luck in the contest!
Cheers

I couldn't help but think of 1Chronicles 7;14 when I read this. Yes I think all the western countries are suffering, but they've wandered far from the principles from my boyhood when we had religious instruction, prayer in parliament etc. teaching self is important. The list goes on. The religious instruction I had when young didn't help much, but at least we honoured Sundays etc, we kill the unborn now, so infant sacrifice upset God in the Old Testament, well done Terry, good luck, blessings this Sunday, Roy

I think this is a good entry for the 6 Word Poetry Contest.
This short verse tells a clear story.
Well done and I wish you luck with the contest.

Amen! The diversity of the Country has always in the past been an asset because of all the new immigrants adhering to the American way. When PC became a common factor you disintegrated your American Culture and allowed it to be controlled by outside factors. A Country cannot be united if it is spilled into hundreds of pathways leading to selfishness.

Very well said, especially your last sentence. I even feel sad when I look at pictures of the Statue of Liberty. Thanks for the great review.

Hello Therese,
It's amazing what can be said in just six words. You've said the same words that I have been saying over and over in my prayers for the last several years.
To be honest with you Therese I don't think our country will ever recover and once again become "America the great."I'm an old Vietnam vet and it embarrasses me to see what's going on every time I turn on the TV.
I wish you the best in the contest. If I could vote for your entry I certainly would...Good Luck...Bill

Thank you for the six stars and for the wonderful review. I agree that we will probably never be where we were, which breaks my heart for my grandchildren. I grew up in the 50s 60s and 70s and it was good. The Vietnam war was not good, as I?m sure you can attest to much more than I can, but you made a good point bringing that into it. My older sister and her husband have been traveling a lot around the world and are constantly asked why we have the president we have. They said it?s very embarrassing and they have no answer to give. Thanks again for the great review.
