We pass on to our child what we know, and how we know it. Then as they grow and find their own path of what they should do with the knowledge. It will take time for them to realize they have the ability to continue on. Then it passes it on to their children. Encourage them to know they can do this.

Well said to your daughter an dproably something we should say to each of our kids - let them know how much confidence we have in them from the get go. And we do - our four sons learned work early and have never stopped working. Thank the Lord.
Good poem of confidence and encouragement.

This had a great 'looking at the man in the mirror' effect. You can almost see the reflections. I liked how you focused on these key words: Doing, Achieving, a glimpse of the infinite. There was some classic Dostoevsky philosophy here in this idea of being responsible for all of mankind. It's very much like the monk Zosima's exhortations before he dies in The Brothers Karamazov. There was a light spiritual air here, but also an underlying tension that made this complicated. A feeling of responsibility and the fear of not measuring up to it. estory

This is excellent advice for how to live each day. We are responsible for using our gifts wisely and to the fullest. A very powerful poem. Have a wonderful day.

This is a touching and intelligent demonstration of your ability to put that other side of your brain to good use. (I suspect it's retrospection, as your daughter, probably no youngster now, already has attained your aspirations for her.)
Nice work!

If I would have listened to my grandmother my life would have been much different, or would it have been. What a wonderfully written and well-thought out poem. The picture is amazing. Best of luck with your writing!
Have a great day and God bless.

I enjoyed reading this one. I can perfectly relate because I too have the best daughter in the world. I try to pass the same message, everything you need is inside you. Check out Not Enough in my portfolio if you get the time. Thank you for sharing.
Happy writing,
Larry

Victor,
This sounds like a speech that could be given to a high school graduate about the rest of his/her life. Confidence will be gained and limits will be learned that are not given by parents. With faith anything can be achieved

I congratulate you on this mindset and commitment to pass on your love and encouragement and wisdom to your daughter. That is the greatest gift that a parent can give their child. This world is such a mess since many people have not done that. Thanks for your creativity. Bill
