I really like dogs but live in a condo up thirty-two steps and cannot have one. Thank you for allowing me to enjoy your talking pet vicariously in this exuberant nonet. Big smiles and best wishes in the contest- Joan

Thank you very much, Joan, for your excellent and lovely review! Unfortunately, Spiffy has crossed the Rainbow Bridge quite awhile ago, and we miss her very much -- but we have very sweet memories of her funny canine presence. They are furry, four-legged, tail-wagging clowns! And such affectionate little friends and family members, too.
I wish we could have another dog, but it's not the right time -- we have numerous issues to deal with, most importantly, my Mom is elderly and has serious pain and disability conditions, which sometimes take me away from home for days or weeks at a time. But I'm so glad you enjoyed my memories of Spiffy with me. The contest is over, but I keep hoping that one of my pieces will win a first prize one day -- don't we all! You're very kind and I think you would make a great dog owner, if you could have one :-)
God bless you! - Mary Kay

I love this one, so cute and well written and presented. My dog is so funny too he was supposed to be a cockapoo but looks like a cocker spaniel and is heavy and strong. I can hardly walk him lol. All the best, Laura

I'm so glad you enjoyed my poem, "Dogs Can Talk." Yes, when we have a dog, they're a great companion, friend and member of the family, and they cheer us up and also provide quite a lot of amusement! I'm glad your sturdy cockapoo/ cocker spaniel is funny, too! Enjoy him, I am sure he's quite precious.
Thank you for your excellent and sweet review. - Mary Kay xoxo

And I am also very pleasantly surprised by the six stars! That is most generous of you.

My daughter's dog SPEAKS exactly this way to me. Good description of this dog's actions and how they can be translated. I like your phrasing, especially these lines: "up in your face/ Look at me!" Any dog lover will enjoy this nonet. Rod

Aw, this is a sweet nonet with a true-to-life description of what a dog's psyche involves. Sounds like a true dog lover to say "Always, ever cute." And also, to put up with those slurping kisses! Enthusiastic nonet.

Heh! I love this poem as it embodies exactly what a dog does. It also does follow the Nonet format, decreasing by one syllable each line. It is very well done!

SO HAPPY to wake up and find this (also your other) beautiful review, as it is my 15th review of this poem, which currently rewards next to nothing (the promotions all expired), and not only that, but you gave me six stars! How very generous, also #15 means that it may now become Recognized. Thank you so much for noticing my description of dog-like behavior, as well as the structural specifics of the nonet. I'm out of Reviewer Nominations, but just for this month. You made my day!

Thank you so much, Marcia, for your beautiful six-star review of my poem about what is actually my dearly departed pup. Yes, doggy language! Did I mention before that Spiffy lived to be about 17? She was rescued at about a year old, so I had her almost 16 years... a very long time. So your son has a dog? That means... you have a gran-dog!
I deeply appreciate your wonderful review!

Perfectly written and set within its counted syllables Animal Nonet writing prompt entry required. The content is beautifully described throughout the pet dog's daily faithful behaviour and acting towards the poetess's love. I loved it all. Great work. Thanks for sharing.

A beautiful poem about our greatest friend. How happy they are to see us and how faithfully they treat us. If we were as joyful meeting each other as our dogs are, we'd look silly hopping up and down every time the boss showed up, but we'd probably all get an award for enthusiasm.

Thank you very much, Imaginos! Hahaha, yes we would get an award for enthusiasm if we greeted our bosses the way our dogs greeted us! Very good! I appreciate the lovely review.

Yep, you've summed it up. I know that some are more vigorous than others trying to get your attention. You have the small dogs jumping and twirling, then, you have the monster dog that just knocks you down. Thanks for sharing this humorous and well written work. Well done!

I like your poem very much! I have a dog and I can picture her bouncing and jumping, so I believe a lot of people can relate to your poem. Also it is in perfect form of a nonet. Good luck with the contest!
