How very lovely! It brings tears to my eyes... Beautiful artwork you chose for this wonderfully rhymed and metered poem too, although it evokes much without it. Overall, poetry doesn't get much better, IMHO.

Babies just seem to have a magic about them that makes everyone want to sit quietly and stare at them, cuddle them and love them. You chose the perfect picture to support your theme. Beautiful poem.

This is utterly delightful, Melissa. Love just has to move in with a new baby, melting your heart in spite of all the late nights and crying. A virtual six, my friend.
Blessings Julia

Yes, Grandpa as well as Grandma dote on their grandchildren. My grandfather on my mother's side of the family was very devoted to his grandchildren, as was Grandmother. Who couldn't help be charmed by that button nose and the wispy hair? Charming artwork choice, and delightfully worded. judi

There's nothing so sweet to a grandparent than a grandchild and we always find room to love more. But I was a little confused as to who Lovey Dear is. It's she so I thought it was the daughter. But maybe you meant to personify Love?

Love it! I hope I have a six star rating left. The words danced effortlessly off my tongue, as if I knew the poem my whole life. The matching picture is just icing on the cake. It looks like a page ripped out of a book. Thank you for sharing. Good luck.
Happy writing,
Larry

I love Lovey and the way you have personified this epitome of
LOVING DEVOTION. It's easy for us to visualize her grand appearance with baby bundled in her arms. We also easily see the baby described in stanza three. What earns this poem an exceptional rating is your flawless meter and well-chosen rhymes, Melissa. This is definitely one of your best! Rod
