I shut my office door at lunchtime with salad on my desk. I wish it was a pepperoni pizza from the little Italian place down the street, but health issues push the salad. As I got comfy, I started to read this and enjoyed the message being conveyed. I had to read it a couple times, but then really it got to me. Thanks for sharing your words to give me a break in my day. I still wish I had the pepperoni pizza.... Take care!

Thank you, dear. It is quite endearing when people allude to their regular life, chores, and so on-because it yields a glimpse into themselves. Thank you.

This is quite a "stream of consciousness" creating a viable poem. The thoughts that stream in and out of our minds evolve and involve more than we are prepared to handle, at times. But, indeed they flow. Well done. I enjoyed the read.

Do you paint, Doug? Or were you just musing as a creator does over his creations? Your poem reminds me of a picture I took when I was in DC with my son a couple of years ago. We were in an art museum and there was a girl there with her easel all set up and she was painting the masterpiece in front of her. She was quite good. :)

Yes, I paint. I still say it with some reticence, as it is still hard for me to believe. I never showed ANY talent in this regard through college. I have been amazed some people actually seem to like my work. Nice review, BTW. If you would like to see what I consider my best effort, please look at the poem, "For Tori." That is my painting as the pic. Thank you.

Hello, my friend,

Art is in the eye of the beholder. Not everyone has the same point of view and so it's artful expression.

Nice poem that flows well. Good job.

Victor, Jabberwocky is nonsense, but entertaining, and much shorter than your nonsense, which is not entertaining. I think you probably know that, and I suspect you may be testing the readers to see if they take this seriously. (Your illustration supports my suspicion. I can't bring myself to give you a four.)

Well, thank you, Don. For the five. LOL I'm afraid I do sincerely like this effort, although I can most sincerely appreciate your conclusions. And...on certain levels, agree with them. But, as I often say, gestalt poetry is an odd beast. When, I am on my right side, unofficially in contact with my muse, oblivious to libear thinking, and let, just let, the words pour out...I initially, do not think said effusion contains much sense. However, upon reflection, the next day, whatever; all seems to coalesce. I must say, this experience always amazes me. Confuses me. Seemingly, lies to me. But oft makes complete sense and enigmatically in a destalt fashion. One must let it "hit" them, no cogitation. Which, for left brain dominate people is, essentially, impossible, or non-sense. CEO's cannot do this, appreciate this, or almost never escape their mandatory left-brained logic denom, inated thinking. So, you are in the majority. LOL Doug

-Nice artwork, Doug.
-You always have good
images that flow through
the poem as you share
your thoughts.
-I like how you use
painting as your theme.
-It is a good symbol for ideas
written on the page.
-The words flow, as does the paint,
unless one is at a loss for them.
-Thanks for sharing.

Hey Victor,
This free verse poem tells us that painting allows us to show to others the underside of life and also its beauty. As does poetry.
Keep writing

I like nonsense poems especially if I can understand them, lol. But, I tried and tried, but failed with this one. So, I can tell you I loved reading it, and making my brain work a little harder to work it out. The first stanza was fine, I got it! And then my brain disintegrated, but picked up on the last one which was like reading something my brain was whispering in my head about me, Lol. I did enjoy reading it. :)) Sandra xxx

Sandra, you do far better at this kind of thing than you think you do. Gestalt poetry is to be "felt." No forebrain. No think. Just abdomen absorption. LOL Thanks. Doug
