Well, Harry, I can't fault you for any of that! I am glad for people like you who are caring and empathetic. The world needs more people like you who want to change things for the better. :)

Hello Harry
This is an excellent piece. Heartfelt, honest - simple and yet direct. The crux of it for me "...I try to be a good parent by teaching my children kindness by example..." Firstly, the word 'try' tells me that you are sincere: you are trying, you are not arrogant in believing that you have this covered - it is hard work and demanding: 'try' is the best any of us can claim. Secondly, to teach by example - that too is telling. If we teach 'tolerance' by example, we create the possibility of raising tolerant people, and I think tolerance is the a vital key to resolving your concerns: you need not dominate, just tolerate and be tolerated.
And Harry, even 'worried' is good, up to a point. We are dead a long time; and although it is good to be concerned, we should not lose sight of today: ours is a wonderful journey through the senses and to love and be loved is a privilege.
I hope you do well with this. It is a simple approach to a very deep and complex issue that (I further hope) each of us grapples with daily.
I wish you well with your continued writing too.
cheers

Thanks for your challenge and your comments to my effort. The format does allow one to think about what is important in life.
