"Dear Abby"
This was a Pleasure to end nuclear armaments.
To dismiss weapons of war.
Eradicate deadly weapons.
...
This read well and flowed well with no Grammar Issues.
...
Rich in Theme and Imagery.
...
The Adjective and Objective Contents were both Excellent and Exceptional while Descriptive Measures aligned Perfectly.
I do know there was a famous German scientists who had a lot to do with the construction and creation of nuclear weapons in the a-bomb.
So I would guess it was probably him?

You are quite right, Ricky. ;) Thanx for stopping by on Dr. Wernher von Braun's dilemma... he and American Robert Goddard are the fathers of modern missile and rocket technology. Take care out there and enjoy the remainder of the week! ;) Yvette

This is a clever way to present the problem and give the answer. Now that so few people get the newspaper, is there still someone such as Dear Abby to ask for advice?
I love the hopefulness in the ending line. "Let the moon be only the beginning."

I'm really not sure.... the younger folks just use social media to collect all sorts of advice - LOL!!! :) :) :) And, yeah, that's a bit of personal 'hope' thrown in there... :) Thanx for dropping by, W.J.! ;) Yvette

You are quite right about that, Jose - no question... think it might be because nobody reads anymore! ;) Thanx for stopping by on Dr. Wernher von Braun's dilemma (yep! that's the guy, not ol' Einy! ... he and American Robert Goddard are the fathers of modern missile and rocket technology. Good to hear from you my friend... take care out there in the Lonestar State, sir! ;) Yvette

What an interesting take on "Dear Abby." H-in-H has to weigh opportunity and possible consequences, which is something everyone has to deal with- if not quite to that extent.
Abby's response is well thought out and carries with it wisdom and insight. I like that you do not end this with a definite course of action but let the reader wonder what will happen.

This is about Werner Von Braun, of course. I remember the space race very well since I grew up in the sixties and I thought the PBS documentary Chasing the Moon was a fantastic, nostalgic trip. Werner von Braun was a complicated character, as are most people, I guess. He had a single minded aim in life, to get to the moon, and after that Mars, and he seemed willing to accommodate whatever government would help him out in the development of his rockets; first, Nazi Germany, and then passing on the Soviet Union for the USA, in what seems like a no brainer. I like the way you put this together in this advice column letter and answer, it allows us to feel some of the passions of von Braun, at the same time as leaving it in a degree of perspective, I think. estory

I did so appreciate your comments on the understanding of history--kindof a lost art these days....sigh. :) :) Take care and enjoy the week ahead! ;) Yvette

After asking Google a few questions... Walter Dornberger? (I think that was his name...) Honey, why do you want to make me think so hard at this time of night? lol, quite honestly, he doesn't sound like anyone I'd want coming here and he doesn't sound like the person you wrote about. His partner maybe? I didn't think about his partner. ...let me know okay? Now I'm all kinds of curious, LLOTS!

Aren't these assignments fun? I enjoyed your story as you did a very good job of describing your character, talking about his lifelong dream and hoping to see it come to fruition. And of course, if your character follows Abby's advice, a brave new world will open up. I think I know who you are writing about, but I won't give it away. But are the initials WVB?

Werner von Braun? I didn't see the Huntsville, Alabama connection. I had to think on this a little, my resident rocket scientist. "Stranger in a strange land" and "others who wanted his technology for weapons of war" was the give away. This was wonderful and the hardest to guess of the ones offered so far.
Sending you my best today as always,
Sally xoxo

I thought immediately of Wernher Von Braun, who was partially responsible for creating both the V1 and V2 rockets that rained on England after the Luftwaffe was decimated in the Battle of Britain, but in the race to capture German scientists after the German surrender between the Americans and the Russian, the US made the procurement of Braun, and he served the space projects well. Well done Yvette, excellent dear Abby letter. Well done, blessings Roy
