This is a great poem, Mary. Your rhyming is super. You told a great, true story about FS in verse. There's good flow and a super message. Yes, we are a community. It's great to see such appreciation as you have written--you are part of this community, too. I agree about trying to keep up. Also, some of the non-promoted works that pay only 2 cents are great. I try to review a few of them. I like so many of your lines that I would be recopying the whole poem. But this line 'the scripts should attract the Screen Actors Guild,' is great. For me fanstory is an escape .I just escape into a world of stories and poems and sometimes I just write whatever I feel .The contests are helpful for an inspirationless person like me .They give ideas.But promoting is a hard task really

Thank you Sanku for your excellent review! I don't believe that you are without inspiration. Sometimes we need a little help, is all. Once you get started, there you go! Plus, where there's a prompt, there's usually a contest, and I saw that you won some of them. Congratulations!
Promoting one's work can be a little time consuming, if you're earning fan dollars, but if you review posts that you like, you can have fun and even find more inspiration. As you said, it's a world to escape into! I do experience anxiety and depression, and it does offer relief to enter this fantastic world.

Thank you so much for your beautiful and inspiring review! I appreciate the wonderful things you wrote about my poem. Yes, the balloons are celebratory. I often photograph things as backgrounds for Bible verses, but looking through my phone, they just jumped out at me as exactly the kind of image I wanted for my poem in tribute to FanStory. I found them just last week at a hospital calling attention to heart health! I would say that FanStory is very good for my heart!

In other ways, we are a microcosm of what the rest of the world is like. We want to have it both ways yet, it's not always realistic. But who cares about realism anyway?
I hope everyone on Fan Story reads this. Whether they review, is of course up to them. You'll fit in just fine on Fan Story. Keep writing like this and you'll gain a large following, with hopefully, lots of six stars!

Thank you, Jesse, for such a thoughtful, inspiring, insightful, excellent and encouraging review! Your comments about poetry are especially interesting, and although I never stopped and thought about it (in all of the whopping 3 months I've been on the site, in which I guess I've been too thrilled to reflect upon it), most of the world of poetry thinks it's more "hip" not to rhyme (or to do something else instead of rhyme and meter, which I haven't thoroughly ever defined), whereas this site values the sonnet and many other special forms. Yes, it's a lovely bubble to be in!

You're very welcome, Mary Kay. After spending several years on this site -sometimes loving it, sometimes not so much - I have come to the conclusion, that it is a lovely bubble to be in. It's timeless, as far as poetry goes. And, I have made some wonderful acquaintances and friendships here, that I cherish deeply. I try to keep up with the latest trends of poetry outside of this site, and I find most of it to be pretentious and without any shape or form to anchor it to being readable and enjoyable to read. Welcome to our little corner of the world, known as Fan Story.
By the way, I am glad you like my review and reflections.

Hello Mary Kay, this is a great poem and you have summed up Fanstory perfectly. I can't keep up with these poets that can post daily. I need to review to raise dollars - I'm too mean to buy them LOL! But I find it a push. There are other things I need to do in life and time is rationed. I particularly like the following -
Sometimes I find a post that attracts me,
But two cents and one point is also what I see.
Yet still, I may go ahead and review,
Because it's creative, deep or true....... And that's the way it should be.
If we just review the high posts all the time for dollars, whether the work is good or not, that is not what poetry is about. There are some good writers way down in the rankings. It depends what your aims are. Good work and I enjoyed your well written, well rhymed interesting poem. Warm regards Dorothy xx

Dear Dorothy, thank you so kindly for your sweet and excellent review of my poem. I have to say, I really had fun with it, and I think my own joy came through! Reading your review, I think we have a similar approach to interacting with the site: not spending a dime more than is necessary (we can't!) but getting by on reviewing posts, and at the same time, enjoying it and drawing inspiration from it.
