Chapeau Poetess! It's beautifully written throughout its nine rhymed versification structural ballad format and wonderfully narrated throughout its specifically fanstorian presentation details. I was really happy in reading it and I enjoyed myself completely. Thank you so much for reading.

Hi Mary, and I love your poetic summation of Fan Story and its content and Members. One has of course, to delve deeply and cover all obvious aspects of a site and what it offers and delivers before you write a descriptive poem such as yours. One also has to take the positive and forget some of the negative aspects. No matter! You did a darned good job of analysing and describing what I once found on another site. This until recently when ownership changed, and monetary gain became all to obvious! Here's hoping this does not happen to this site! I'm also hoping that in time, I too will be able to recognise the positivity you obviously find therein, and agree 100%. I do think the mainstay of any site is very dependant upon the membership, and I have been fortunate - to date - in lucking-on to some very helpful people - a few exceptions - who have made my early forays far less stressful than some. For the time being, I am being convinced - slowly - that this site is not so bad! For now the jury remains sequestered, as I seek my verdict. Your poem helps me to reach one - on some of its aspects and offerings - at a price? Fondest Denis.

Thank you Denis, my friend, for your excellent and thoughtful review of my poem. This is the first time I have had 46 reviews of anything, and I have finally made it through -- yours was #46. I am sorry for the delay, but I like to do things right and not rush through my answers. There will be negative aspects to just about anything on this earth, but yes, we need to look at that half-full glass, as long as there's one to be had, and in all human endeavors, there's good, better and best; why not seek the best. I am very happy with this and haven't found a reason not to be. I don't mind if others make money, maybe someday I will too, if I write something a lot of people want to read, but in the meanwhile, it's a worthy pursuit for it's own sake, and the gift I was given.
Hmm... my poem helps you reach a verdict, at a price... I totally respect your opinion, but I'm not quite sure how that works! I hope I don't sound dull or naive, I'm just a little mystified. Only answer that one if you want to. I appreciate your support and honesty. Warmly with blessings, Mary Kay

Yes its a great site for writing not sure about the politics but once you get reading no one wants to stop. Its all about the writing and it aint always easy but we get there in the end with a pump and a cent.

Thank you Barbara for your exceptional and beautiful review, with the six shining stars, so kind of you! Yes, I often must review the material that "pays" a lot and hope for those great Member Cent Pumps, but sometimes a friend or even someone who I don't know has a post that attracts me, and I think, why not take a look? Or I'm halfway through, before I realize it's not promoted but already hooked on reading it! Occasionally I get reviews on my own work while no promotions are active on it, and it is such a pleasant surprise when someone reviews my work for almost no reward.
There are really so many great poems, stories both fictional and nonfiction, scripts (although I am still learning more about those) and books. I had great fun writing the poem and had been considering it, on and off, for weeks. Thank you very much for your comments, and God bless you! - Mary Kay

I didn't know that there is a challenge in April -- is that every year? Did you say DAILY challenge? I don't know about that... we'll see! Thanks for the heads-up. No way I can afford to spend actual money promoting anything, it was enough to pay the yearly membership fee. I will just try to save up some fan dollars by reviewing work, but it takes awhile!
This site really does encourage creativity, and that is a huge plus, and you're right, the friendships are the real bonus, it's wonderful! God bless you, Christine! xoxo

Yes the April Challenge is every year I wont do it again I don't have the time or spare cash it takes a while to build up members dollars through reviewing.. so Tom must be quite wealthy with many of us spending our real money LOL Anyway it is a good site to be on and much fun Cheers Chris

Thanks Chris, you're looking so great at 67, must be all that nursing you do -- I think I remember from somewhere that you're a nurse. Wow that April Challenge sounds intense! Of course not everyone is in their 60s and/or counting their dollars so yes, if you've got disposable income, it can be spent here! There are quite a few writing sites, but none like this, when I first started I wrote reasonable amounts of work, but one gets better at it, I've never really suffered from muse failure. Fanstory has its failings, but I competition and incentives is good. One could write about a blade of grass that's dried up, and you've got a subject and metaphor one can apply to life. Beautifully written Mary Kay, slight variation in meter, beautifully upbeat with a great theme, and aabb. So well done, blessings, Roy

Yes, my heart was laughing when I wrote that line you mentioned. (I was going to include "bathe" in the list, but fortunately I came up with "drink" instead -- some might be offended at the suggestion of a secret society of stinky writers hahahaha! I can get very silly when alone with my thoughts.)
I don't know if I mentioned in my private message, the picture of the balloons was from an event promoting heart health at Mt. Sinai Hospital. My husband and I just happened to be there, I was having a minor procedure done. I like to take general pictures as backgrounds for Bible verses, and when I looked in my phone for something suitable for FanStory, the balloons just popped out at me! There's serendipity.
