Another honest, endearing chapter. I presume the next chapter touches on the subject of your wedding night, and I so hope it went well! I just found one nit, but otherwise, it was a well written and enjoyable chapter.

During the ceremony, we were as nervous [as] feral cats.

I really appreciate all these. Maybe it will help keep me in fifth place. You see i did get cold feet for a bit but I got past it. It would have been a mistake to have backed out. He was good man. Just a bit unprepared.

A beautiful bride and a simple event. What a wonderful time had by family. With this co-vid virus there are weddings held on porches or at homes. You were right in style with today's weddings.

I'd never given any thoughts to wedding or what I would want mind to be like so I just let my mom take over. I guess those girls today who have been dreaming of a big wedding since they were five, aren't happy with the way the virus is putting a cramp on everything.

This is a good account of your wedding. I enjoyed reading it. Your use of descriptive words/phrases allows readers to visualize the event well. I'm sure that humidity and nerves were all present. The ending made me laugh about that couple choosing not to have a wedding like yours. Thanks for sharing. Respectfully, Jan

Another good chapter I had to come back to, as I missed it before the Honeymoon, haha. Now spag time and general comments. for two years until I decide I was to get marri Have to re-write to shorten background as you run out of space
(Need a line space at least before this start,) It was the 23 of June in 1956 on a Saturday evening. Since Mom was an Adventist and believed this was Remind me to direct you to my time in the Sydney Adventist hospital a year after we married.

Our wedding was taken over by Louise's Mother 90% anyway. Can't remember how far you got in my book working on that.

we were as nervous (as) feral cats.
"You may kiss the bride" (We weren't given then option after our vows and stuff to kiss either!

i do remember reading about when you met your wife to be. I commented on that earlier. I went back and read about your wedding. You had a much nicer one that I did but didn't want a big wedding.

Here's where we differ. Small wedding in big Catholic church. I had only one close friend in my hometown. The twenty some other guests with spouses were friends of my parent.

I screwed up and repeated the vows assigned to Frank. The priest joked: "Those are his lines, not yours."

Lovely that he bought a new car. Frank borrowed his mother's Chevy.

I'm sure we left enough rice in that black Pontiac to feed a family of Chinese.
Great metaphor.

Thank you for continuing to read and comment on my posts. I guess you were having an attack of nerves the same as we were. Sounds like your vows were longer than ours were.

Don't try to read if you're having problems with your eyes. I tried to make it large but the computer wouldn't cooperate. Thanks for the stars anyway.

Your mother did a great job arranging the wedding and the
announcement in the News Paper. I was more than happy to forego all that pressure and go for a very simple wedding by a beloved preacher who helped us tie a strong knot to keep us together 56 years. LOL This was entertaining Beth. Well done! Nancy:)

I don't get why people want to spend a fortune on a wedding. Half the time they don't even stay together. You just as married the simple way. Mom could lightened on the news story. I found that embarrassing. Thanks for the review and comments.

Writing about these memories must really roll back the years for you! I feel like this is a great way to remember and refresh your cherished moments by putting them to paper. And you did it quite well too in setting the scene and all. Haha, well you'd know coz you were there!
Liked how a random old couple showed up before anyone else for your special day! :-)

Lovely chapter. I do like hearing about people's customs and events. I was born in 1957, so this is JUST before my time. You tell it so well- affectionately but pragmatic. I have a few little edits, but you get a six for entrancing me for the length of a chapter.
