A very well-written chapter. Helen's rescued and saved from her ordeal. The crooks are either dead or in custody to be punished for the gruesome deeds of the leader.

Once again the Richard Hannay/Kenneth Moore imagery was strong er than ever, particularly when Charles wants to see the ungodly handed over to the authorities rather than tortured barbarically. That is no criticism though but part of the story's charm and British sense of fair play.

I think it was the sixties and the Sweeney that brought an end to that era. They don't make 'em like that any more. Today you'd have the Health and Safety guys all over you.

Thanks, Jim. I see you have the Prologue up. Had a quick skim through it this morning. Looks like an interesting project.

So - Charles and his party have managed to pull off their coup.

Just one point for your attention:

like a genii hovering in the sky - if 'genii' is plural, then I think the 'a' should be deleted.

Best wishes
Judy

Thanks, Judy. Clearly, I'm no genius! I meant genie, of course. It's a good thing I have some genii hereabouts to save me from embarrassing myself too much!

Goodness, I wish I had another six for this chapter, too. What a tense, exciting part this was! I'm sorry, but I like Kayla, and had that been my sister, I'd have done the same. (I think) If it was my sons being tortured, then I'd not think twice about torturing him. So, now Helen is safe but a mental wreck, I hope the release of tears will help her part way to getting better. But I'm not sure if she will be ready for Charles for a long while. This was a brilliant, six star chapter, and I thoroughly enjoyed it!! (I'm a sadist, LOL ) xx Sandra xx

LOL I tend to agree. However, Charles, the poor old duffer, is plagued by that British sense of fair play. Maybe he also wanted to make sure that Kayla and Helen didn't get into trouble with the authorities.
I suspect you are right about Helen. It may take her longer to recover than Charles. I doubt she'll ever say what happened to her in the hands of the terrorists, but the emotional scarring is obvious.

Great chapter Tony, full of drama. I think that special knife really spurred Charles on and Kayla with her Kradot Thip, good going. Sorry I've not a 6 left this was a great read.

I'm so glad Helen and Kayla are alive and they were able to capture the man. I don't blame the girls for wanting revenge after all he did to them. Your chapter is well-written, very interesting, suspenseful start to finish, great job as always.

Many thanks for your review, Dawn, and for the words of encouragement. I'm not sure how the girls will react to having Abdul handed in to the authorities.

This work has reached the exceptional level

Kayla and Helen are going to be some mad at him, aren't they? Perhaps his incredible luck will run out at the hands of the two women. After what Abdul did I don't blame them. I'd want to cut his junk off too. I'm surprised Kayla didn't do it when she had the chance. Great action in this chapter. Charles' blunder in the last chapter had me worried.

    Thanks, Cindy.
I?m feeling a bit guilty that I?m so far behind in the story of the dragons. Hoping to have a bit of time over the next few days to do some catching up.
I appreciate your comments and the sixth star.
    All good wishes, Tony.

Wow! What an exciting chapter with explosions and gunfire and exotic martial arts moves! While I understand Charles' motive to do the right thing and the right way, the government there is easily bribed so I doubt they would do the right thing. It would also put Charles in a bad situation with Kayla and Helen.

Thanks, Helen. Pretty well every move that Charles makes lands him in some kind of trouble! I hope the girls forgive him.

I did wonder how Charles was going to get out of his predicament. at the end of the previous chapter. Once again you came up with a plausible solution. Well done I look forward to the next chapter.
