You have used your fifteen syllables effectively to create a thought-provoking poetic statement. Forgiveness--especially from God--should
not be taken as a be-all-and-end-all experience, but as an encouragement to become better.

You are so right, Janice! ;) Forgiveness is one of those two-edged swords that cuts the bonds of both parties, yeah? Think the world could use a whole lot more of it rather than the 'live in vengeance' mode of social media... sigh. Have a Terrific Tuesday!! ;) ;) Yvette

That is such a nice message, Yvette. To forgive can be hard but when done, the freedom it gives is amazing. I love that picture, isn't it gorgeous? Well done, my friend, this is an excellent contest entry. Good luck! Sandra xxx

Right - to be forgiven does give us wings - to fly - to continue on in creative ways. Good poem. And we're not to sit still in the freedom of forgiveness - just be grateful I think.

It's a good short poem. It got what it needed to say said. I liked your wings metaphor that problem meant so much more to it. It kind of reminded me of what a lady said about her wheel chair and how it was not a restraint it was what helped her move around. Same with your poem say that your able to do stuff with one's forgiveness than just cower behind it. Good luck with the contest.

No... it's rainy and in the fifties -- gonna have a high today round 58, high tomorrow around 48 and a high on Thursday of thirty-something.... AND it's gonna rain the whole time!! YUCK!! We'll see about the kids tomorrow.... ugh! ;) Thanx for your review on this one, BLOTN -- always love your support, my friend!! ;) Take care and try to find some sunshine up there and enjoy it for me! ;) Yvette

A truly thoughtful entry for this contest, suggestive of gaining strength instead of shying from an unfortunate encounter. Excellent choice of image as well. Good luck... ...ec

Well said. The Art and your splendid words meld together to spark our minds and stir our hearts. When repentance is present some need forgiveness to propel them forward.

The arms of forgiveness
offer not shelter
but strength to fly!

Absolutley right and what a well thought of wording for the contest. Forgiveness lifts the weight of guilt and allows healing
