I was very proud of myself. I figured out "neither kiss nautical" on my own, before even reading your explanation. Granted it took a few extra seconds, but I definitely admire your imagination and your sense of humor. I particularly loved "astern talking-to" and "I'd rudder he stopped â?¦." [Sorry, my computer, which has a mind of its own, sent before I was finished the first time.]

Relationship stories about maritime personnel always seem to involve naughty-cal ship-tuations where one will see a lot of seamen. We'll sea what happens here.

A very well-written fifty-word relationship commentary about living with a sailor. We would not know where we will be tomorrow and the chances are good we may get lost somewhere on the ocean.

LOL! I'm glad that you explained "neither kiss nautical" which became perfectly clear when I read your author's note. My favorite line:
"She'd rudder he stopped criticising her port-ly broad beam."

LM,

hahaha I am pretty much impressed every time I read one of these short pieces of yours. You seem to have no end or limit to these witty puns. You must either be VERY clever or else you never sleep??? Your mind must go a 1000-mph all the time. hahaha

And a whopping congrats on the Recognized Writer Award! It is so deserved! Yay!!

My mind is like a washing machine on spin cycle.
Thanks for your congrats, Robyn. I was surprised - I figured a writer would have to be on the site for ages before being 'recognized'.

One is tempted to ask whether a capsized marriage would sink without a trace or seven and an eight of it remain afloat. Another great sea-quence of flotsam and jetsam.

Another great little peice. I particularly liked, 'she decks him one'. Very entertaining. Congratulations for winning the recognised writer for February. It is so well deserved. Take care. Jen.

This might be the most densely packed punfest of the series - I'll have to admit "neither kiss nautical" took me a while, but I eventually got it (and then I read your notes). The others dropped like a carpet bombing of fun. Loved it.

Hahaha - this is another fun-to-read story filled with puns. I think my favorite phrase is 'woo her back if their marriage capsized.' Many marriages do end up on the rocks. I, for one, am on my second husband. Hugs, Lou

I really don't know how you do it. But you own this humourous niche, LisaMay. I'm glad you explained "nautical" though. It's a question of where one puts the stress.

Kudos on the recognized writer award. I suspected that was in the offing.

Blessings Julia

Thanks for reviewing. I was most surprised about the recognized writer award - I figured it was for people who had been on the site for ages. I feel I am still finding my 'voice'. These 50-word stories do seem to have been noticed, but i don't want to stereotype myself.

I understand. I think the stories are clever and funny. But your free verse is where your true talent lies. IMHO.
