Your command of words is outstanding. Obviously, my favorite part is raindrops crescendo. What a great image. As we age, we so need that brighter, stronger sunlight. I used to wonder about Florida's appeal to the elderly. I don't wonder anymore. We need to get away from lingering winters and rains to warm our bones and lift our spirits.
I enjoyed your poem very much.

Debbie, I couldn't agree more. I think the suns rays are liquid elixir for tired joints.

Excellent ...

It has a good rhyme use with n attractive and friendly appeal which entices the imagination not stiffed or contorted or even cruel with a good use of the refrain repetition and a good all round rich imagery good word choices.

This is a lovely read. It is a very good description of a dreary rainy day and the feeling people get when they sit looking outside. Poor little wet bird! Your rhyming is great and your words flow smoothly. The image is perfect. Wonderful poem!

Aw that poor little bird looks like he's having a rough day.

I think you've done a good job in linking your own feelings with those of the wet wren and drawing in the love of rain, birds and life in general.

A fine Kyrielle and a most enjoyable read. :)

In my opinion, another amazing write by this gifted wordsmith - the rhyming rhythm flawless and nature and human references articulated clearly and smoothly unforced - striking in presentation...

Hi Jim. This is a very nice Kyrielle poem. I enjoyed reading it. Rhyming and theme are well done and repeating fourth line fits well into each stanza. Good job. Marilyn

I can't tell if the Potlatch challenge required using the Kyrielle form, but it was a pleasure to read yours. Your rhyming is excellent, and not forced.

It was warm enough this morning to go for a nice long walk with no coat, just a sweatshirt. It was gorgeous. I went back out a couple hours later and the wind had picked up and I wished I had my coat. It was my reminder that even though it's slowly getting warmer we're not quite there yet. I'll say some prayers we both get a little more sunshine.

A very well-written Kyrielle in perfect format and an interesting choice of subject the little wren who tries its best to be brave early morning to continue his task despite the raindrops around him.

What a delightful Kyrielle. We've had rain like that for several days now, and I understand how you feel. I like the part of the little wren. You repeating line fit in nicely.
