I like this and the message conveyed. Stillness and yet in the midst of it as you've so eloquently stated, something is happening. It draws you away. You sense new life even through the stillness and everything you can physically see. This is good work and I enjoyed reading this well written work. Well done!

Thanks for the encouraging comments and I'm glad the poem was effective in getting across this sense of approaching spring and the movement from stillness to dance, from contemplation to action estory

It is easy to visualize the addressee sitting at her table on a winter afternoon, drinking tea and happily discovering a "field of crocus" amidst the snow. I can almost hear her happy yelp as for the first time in ages she becomes animated.

Thanks for the excellent review and your wonderful comments supporting the poem. I think I envisioned this as a couple sitting in a living room actually. But I try to write them as obtuse as I can to approachable from multiple angles. Glad the poem was so easily relatable for so many people estory

This is a very lovely word picture of what takes place when winter gives way to spring. It is nicely composed free verse. I like your title. I can't wait for the plants sleeping below the ground to awaken.
