I had missed this earlier, unfortunately. I'm not sure how except that I have just recently published my first book. It just came in the mail yesterday and I finally had that feeling of completion and satisfaction. Publishing a book is so distracting, yet so satisfying. It's especially difficult being blind and not being able to see very well as I rely on so many to help me. My husband has taken the job as publisher and have also designed the book cover which came out wonderful. I'm very pleased with it. That being said, I am behind with you and so many others. I apologize and hope you except this for you today with my kindest compliments. Your work is so outstanding in every way, I wish I had a six for this! I hope to see you more in the weeks ahead. Sending my best today as always, Sally xoxo

You are welcome. My book is "What The Blind Girl Saw." It has been featured here in FanStory for the last year. I just posted the finale in January and the epilogue in February and moved to print after that. My new novella, "Double Blind", is on here and a continuation of the blind girl series. I just started it and into chapter two. :) XO

estory - There is nothing more still than undisturbed snow - you painted an image with it's own soundtrack in those first three lines. I was instantly there and listening.
I don't much about snow, but I did see a show (National Geographic I think with time lapse on crocus breaking through the snow. Fascinating. The beckoning is a perfect 'bring you in' choice.
What a great choice! A good book or a garden - now their is a dilemma!
No doubt the bulbs would win for me as well.
I like this very much!

Thanks again for the sixer and I appreciate all the encouraging words and support. It's always satisfying to find that the crafting of the language seems to have worked and you apparently found yourself there at the window torn between that book and the garden. I have found myself there many times I guess...estory

This is a well written free verse poem perfect for the upcoming spring. Nature's beautiful wonders will be here before we know it. I enjoyed your poem very much. Great job and thank you for sharing.

mmm ... its free-verse alright but it needs more emphasis and use of the imagery to pluck those bulbs out the garden and bring them all indoors. It is good in its understanding but needs further development with the lines to deliberate and conjure the imagination as its narrative tells the story it is rather flat and two dimensional it needs to ripen but not go off ... it has a good basis and a secure idea but the concept of its freeness must be furthered.

A free verse poem about the awakening of each season. Starting out with the unblemished silence or winter. Then the crocuses down the street croak in the spring and summer come alive with their chirping. Dreaming of gardens and more. Good job!

Lovely, interesting poem! The entire poem is beautiful but I truly love the first stanza. Unblemished snow. And spring is on the way, a lovely thought. Thanks for sharing this lovely poem.

Thanks for the excellent review and your wonderful comments supporting the poem. Glad you liked the images and that one in particular that you mentioned. There is definitely a movement here from stillness to action, from contemplation to involvement that I wanted to get across. estory

As a lover of gardening (and also reading and tea), I identified with this lovely poem. Tough choice :) I no longer have a garden but lovely lavender crocuses just bloomed on my window sill. Beautiful presentation. I enjoyed it very much.

Hello estory,
If I didn't know better, I would say this well-crafted and beautifully rendered poem describes my life perfectly. From the field of crocus beckoning me, to sipping tea, to dreaming about my gardens, you have depicted my life... I was a bit startled when I read it! And how I long for Spring!

Thank you for sharing!

Thanks again for the exceptional review and all your encouraging comments supporting this poem. It was fun to write; I like spring and have ever since those terrible winters of the mid 90's in NY. estory

Oh, Crocus!!! I can't wait, Estory! That reminds me to keep an eye out, and that THIS is the year that I'm going to go to town on the gardens in my back yard!... (I know... I say it every year and it never happens... it's a nice thought though) ;)

"You sit sipping tea, Caught between a good book And dreaming of gardens." And then, the dream comes true as "Bulbs, like buried treasures" win you over. Lovely.
