Neat little story, I will enjoy reading it. I'm glad I'm getting in on the first of it. These kids have a very big vocabulary for eleven year old. I like the notes or the co-authors. I love those little log cabins around Pigeon Forge. The Smoky Mountains is wonderful place to grow. That's my favorite place to go.

A good opening chapter for this new book. The characters feel very real. The dialogue is very upbeat and the story line is easy to follow. You left the reader wanting more. It doesn't get much better than that.
I am looking forward to chapter 2.

This style of writing is so fun to read! It almost has kind of an older feel to it, which you don't see often in modern day writing. The use of language is phenomenal and I look forward to reading more.

Your writing flows very easily and is quickly devoured. It is very easy to picture these two kids walking to school together, and it is fun being on the sidelines as they begin to fall in love.

This is a great start to the story. If I'm honest , there's a lot of repetitions from other stories you've posted. But I suppose there's a lot of appeal to those who are not in the know. We'll see where this story takes us. Best regards, Ulla:)))

I think the conversation flows very well, but I wonder if an 11 year old girl would use the word promiscuous. But I guess kids are growing up sooner these days. This would have been much easier reading for this old lady's eyes if it were written in a standard font. The bold italics just runs together. I look forward to reading more.

Exceptional
This work has reached the exceptional level

This chapter is an AWESOME start to the book, Bill and Cathy!

I love how the first paragraph sets the scene with Grandma's reminder about the food on the table. I believe this, also, sets the tone of family and love that will be on display throughout the novel.

The paragraphs that follow introduce readers to Cathy (and her father). I like the way that comes early in this chapter. Readers get a feel for her family (father) and a little insight into her behavior.

The red wasp incident was a great way to present '"Our First Kiss." The reaction of Cathy and Bill is natural and one that readers will be able to identify with. It, also, is a prelude to the real possibility of a relationship between them developing in future chapters.

Mrs. Cooper is a strict teacher; but, students respond with respect. You did a great job detailing the procedures late students followed according to her rules. The interaction between student(s) and teacher is clearly visible.

Cathy is a smart young lady who realizes what is, or could be happening, with herself and Bill. She knows Bill is interested in her; and, there is no doubt she feels the same about him.

You maintain the 'country feel' throughout with the dialogue, the respect young people had for their elders--both at school and home--and references to images such as never wasting food (Grandma's reminder), walking to school and Youth Night, completing chores at the crack of dawn, and lighting the lamp in your room. All these keep readers on track as to where this novel begins and how the character's are influenced by the country life.

The cliff hanger will draw readers back in an instant to find out what happens. I will certainly return for each chapter. The book cover is beautifully presented. The 'about the author' is a great way to introduce the authors.

Thank you both for sharing this amazing start to your AWESOME novel.
Respectfully with Love and Admiration,
Laura Jan

The first kiss! I love it. I also liked how Cathy slapped your face, then said she liked it! LOL. I remember the different things we would be punished with at school. Standing in front of the class for the whole lesson was one of them, and they never got any better. I enjoyed your first chapter, Bill, and look forward to reading the next and the outcome of the snakebite. :) Sandra xx

While the story was good and I would really like to read the next chapter as well...I must say that by choosing the font style and then bolding every word was a disconcerting. The reading experience could have been better with different presentation. Kindly work on that in the future. Cheers :-)
