Therese,
I hear about these stories all the time. It's crazy. If my daughter came home with a guy like this and told me they were getting married, I'd FLIP! hahahaha But that just goes to show you can't ever tell ahead of time. The best relationships seem to fall apart sometimes and the 'craziest' ones last forever! Congrats~!!

Terry,
I love this lovely three line contest entry. How beautiful to have met your soul mate in the grocery store. I met my soul mate walking downing the street to buy cookies from the candy man, I was only fifteen. He was on his way to Vietnam. Thanks for sharing this beautiful poem, the very best to you in the contest.
Blessings...Portia

Hi Therese. Excellent use of the three required lines of poetry here. May I suggest one small change for better flow?
Here: "I left with Coke and you."
Good luck in the contest. :) Bob

A smart shopper. This is so sweet and romantic. My grown sons use the dating websites which are iffy. I prefer this, as I met my darling husband at school when I was 13.
Sending you my best today as always,

Thank you so much! Meeting when you are 13 is very romantic also.

Your poem fit the three line poetry contest. It stayed a constant theme of a chance encounter. The image and color scheme worked with the poem. I don't have any cliques to make other than classifying the poem as romance instead of general.

This is an outstanding poem, especially as it's based on reality.
Life can be extremely kind and extremely strange sometimes.
And sometimes it's easier to write fact than fiction, when you have a good story to tell.

Hello Terry. You have an interesting story told here. Not many people go shopping at the grocery store and end up with a Diet Coke and a MAN! This is a serious poem but that made me smile.

Lol. That's very good. You told a whole story in this brief poem and you met all the contest rules in syllable count and addressing a loved one. Best wishes in the contest!
