Hi Sal. That's a really cool story. Your economy of words told the whole story that could be read in a few minutes and remembered for months or longer. The kind of writing you did here is why I like flash fiction and short stories so well. Complete stories can be told without 10,000 words. This is very well written and it is a wonderful story.

Good luck in the contest.

Your pal... Z

Dear Z, I'm glad you liked this and hoped that you would. Most Christians do believe in angels and that they stand guard around our lives. I believe the scriptures when it's says we entertain them unaware. Doctor McGrath is such an angel in this story. Sending you my best today as always,
    Your pal
PS~ Awaiting your article after what I saw last night. I know one must be brewing. ;)

Sally, that's a great line and very true that it's easier to remedy a money problem than a hope problem. I like the story that brings to life the importance of helping someone out when you can so they can move on with hope. Thanks for sharing!
Bill

This is a beautiful story. The dialogue was great and the storyline was inspirational and hopeful. I always like to believe there are angels among us.

Hello Sally, a terrific Tuesday to you. I hope this finds you well, in good health and spirits. I enjoyed reading your flash fiction story, if only angels in disguise really did help those in need, this world would be a much better place. There would be no more hunger and homelessness. The thought of that can give you a warm fuzzy feeling, but the reality is disheartening. That being said, it was a great feel good story. Good job and good luck in the contest. Have a great day!

Thank you for the excellent review of my contest entry, dear poet. An angel saved me from death as a child, so I am one prone to believe. This is my second story featuring Dr. McGrath. Sending you my best today as always,
    Sally :))

Hello Sally, one six left and it is yours. So happy I had one. I loved your story. As they say 'it's the way you tell 'em', and you tell a story so well. You write in a way that the reader must keep reading to find out what is coming next. I particularly like -
The angel of Ireland saw into his pockets, but even worse, his empty soul. "Money is always easier to remedy than a human bereft of hope," - What a great piece of writing. A good story - well told. Good Luck - warm regards Dorothy xxx

Good Morning, Sally!
I enjoyed every morsel of your well-crafted flash fiction...with the exception of "oxtail soup!" Ewww...only because my palate is not very refined! :) But, I understand it is very flavorful!
The plot, characterization, dialogue work so well together. Just a wonderful story to start my day!

One small nit:

What a neat topic for a flash fiction piece. There is something magical (and sometimes saintly) about Ireland and its legends. You managed to extract that in your wonderful story. Supernatural or not, I love the idea of people bringing God's love to other people in the form of kind acts.

Aw, thank you, Mr. Valentine. I am so honored you have come again to my pages. This was a fun one for me as I do believe in angels. I had an angel encounter as a child when a dog attacked me on a country road. A man appeared out of no where and kicked the dog off of me. I believe we do the acts of God anytime we do good deed and can be counted as angels ourselves. We don't need wings to help someone. Speaking of, thanks for the wonderful review. It made my day brighter! Sending you my best today as always,
    Sally xo
