How lovely this story is, it reminds the reader of what it is to commit a selfless act, and to help someone in need. I think we ought to help more, and in doing so, help ourselves as well. Great story!

Wow! Another pleasing story, Sally. I really enjoyed it. Wouldn't it be nice to be an angel? ...to roam the earth looking for people to help? At times, we all need a little help to get to our feet. A friend. A relative. or even an angel. Remember Clarence of "It's A Wonderful Life"? He was sent to help George Bailey remember his blessings. We often overlook what we see everyday, eh?
This story seems very real to me. I believe in angels. They walk the earth daily, doing God's work.
"Oh, yes! Wait ... how did you know I had two sons?"
"You mentioned them earlier."

{Just} so glad you showed me that, Yvette. I was at 499 words and now I can breathe easier at 498! I do that because that's the way I talk, I suppose. Jackson says I over dramatize. LOL! Seriously, thank you. It's hard for me to stay within a word count for these flash entries. (I've been disqualified before for being over.) I'm so pleased you enjoyed my contest entry. ;) :)

My favorite part:

... "The one who sent me doesn't think so."
Most of us could not bestow the gift of a house, but we all can do smaller acts of kindness every day. Even a smile lifts a spirit. No one ever shares enough hugs in a lifetime, but something as simple as a well-earned word of praise and/or encouragement can make a big difference.
Your stories are a welcome loving moment amid this world's harsh realities.

This is a superbly heartwarming story of Dr. Sedrick McGrath, legendary Angel of Ireland, performing one of his life-transforming deeds for a man who had lost hope of being able to support his family because the factory where he once worked had closed months before.
My favorite part:
