Thank you for your excellent and thoughtful review. It does feel good to have this type of loving relationship. On our wedding day and into the night, I really felt like I was on a cloud, and the honeymoon was very sweet. It had a lot to do with the kind of relationship we had, deeply Christian, based on kindness and trust... but yes, it does get tested, oh yes, we have been through many trials together and with God's help we persevere. It isn't easy and these days it's very hard, but being together makes all the difference. We are both flawed people, which is why forgiveness is always so important. There were people, even in our own church, including pastors, who didn't want us to be together, and yet here we are, over 15 years later, all glory to God.

6 "But at the beginning of creation God 'made them male and female.' 7 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, 8 and the two will become one flesh.' So they are no longer two, but one flesh.

Your rhyme scheme was on point and I also liked the colors you used! Great job!

You're much more romantically minded than I am. When we married, I did not have a lovely dress. We had a very small wedding. Guess I was more practical. Besides new hubby had to report back to the army. those were the days.
I enjoyed your romantic poem however.

Thank you, Gail, for your excellent review of my poem. I'm glad you enjoyed it. We got married in our mid 40s, so I think that by then, I was ready for some romance.
The large size of the wedding was more to accommodate the many people who had become involved in our lives at that stage.
Sometimes I wish we had started much younger, so that we would have been able to have children. But each couple has their own story. I'm sure yours has its highlights and blessings. Army life, wow! I hope you lived on base and were not separated.
