Well done, very well written. Your description was perfect, I empathized with the character, feeling the dread of the child and the glee of the father. I felt the pain after the shoot and remember my own experience, made raw by this poem. I raised the gun high enough to miss, and let it run! That said, I like the rhythm of your poem, it has a smoothness that carried this reader across the hills and up the tree. It engaged me immediately without distraction.

I'm glad I don't hunt. Fishing is my pleasure and I practice catch and release. What a wonderfully written poem and I love the picture.

if the Hunters realise that one day they themselves would be a Hunt for the fate and the bullet of the death will chase them they would have never shot at any Hunt you have written very nice poem and thank you very much for sharing it
