CIAO TEMPESTE: I like your poem here. It reminds me of a poem that I wrote entitled: "YES I'LL DARE TO TRY." It goes: "A picture or a mountain...so high up in the sky. I can climb that mountain. Yes I'll dare to try. At the climax of the challenge...the drama so to speak...I wrote this poem's ending...on the mountain's highest peak." For me...things get tough sometimes, Franka. Nevertheless: I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come...nor height nor depth nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of our God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Oh my, Franca, I have not heard of those statistics before, but the Matterhorn is so famous that I really believe people are foolish enough to try it. Great job in constructing this perfectly formatted verse... the satori is very good.

Oh, too bad you didn't enter it in that contest. That is some mountain peak in the picture. Many climbers have attempted to kiss its cheeks, but your notes indicate there have been several who died during the attempt. There must be a "fatal attraction" to climbing these challenging mountains. I can't see risking your life just so you can say you've climbed it. Sometimes we have people who get injured while mountain climbing or have to be rescued, costing a lot of money and manpower to rescue them. The wording of your poem is impressive, and I like the rhyme. judi

The Cervino , in my opinion, is the most beautiful mount of the Alps ..
..at the foot where my father was born , you can find the famous terraced vineyards where some of the finest wines are produced.
Harsh ...rough ... land grows excellent grapes...
Glad you enjoyed the read .. I wrote it thinking of my father ....I never had in mind to enter the competition.
It s the challenge .. and I can understand that ..what I don t get is that they ignore the weather bulletins and recommendation...they take risks and then when something happens others have to risk their lives to save them.

Thank you ..I m glad my poem touched you.
my papa was born at the foot of the Alps, in the Valtellina valley ..
...the vineyards terraces are famous there as is the wine produced ... some of the finest.
....and from where I live near lake Maggiore I can see the Alps too. ( biggrin )

.. my papa was born at the foot of the Alps so its a homage to him ..
Mount Cervino is as beautiful as it is lethal...it s shape and majestic appearance are breathtaking , in my opinion.
