This sounds like a true story and I enjoyed your repeat of "bumbling romeo" for emphasis. Your use of alliteration also intensified the description. Cheers and best wishes in the contest- Joan

This is so precious! Just like a little boy. He wants to please his mommy so much, it's worth enough to turn sugar into salt. The picture bears a believable resemblance to a bunch of misshapen, colorfully glazed Valentine's cookies!

Thanks for the review. I am so happy that you saw the cookie in that abstract. I spent alot of time looking for the perfect cookie artwork.
Bumbling romeos turn into compassionate, thoughtful men, cheers.

Such a quite Valentine poem and is more wonderful when the loves come from your child. This part made me laugh: "I take a cautious nibble
and hope my grief won't show.
Instead of sugar he used salt,
my bumbling romeo."
