Excellent job in the penning of your typical day for this writing prompt.
I really enjoyed reading your entry. I am retired also, so I really like your title "Retired but not Expired." Thanks for sharing and the very best to you in the contest. Blessings...Portia

Sharon, thanks for your nice comments and good wishes.
PS, do you have a picture of you where you're smiling??
The one you have probably doesn't do you justice. I hope you don't think I'm being rude, You sound like a fun person and I just wondered.

    thank you!
I love your pen name - a jumble of genres - minglement. clever name that skips merrily across the tongue. You make me want to change mine to something "cleverer." :)

LOL - yes, 'a merry mix' :) Thanks and you're welcome. Now I can't wait to see your name lol. I truly loved your poem. I'm tired of hearing people complain about retirement!

lol. Yes, 'a merry mix' :) Now I have a mystery - to learn your name. I truly loved your poem for its humor. I get so tired of people complaining about retirement. Ugh! Tae care :)

pome lover is FS name. At the time, I thought it was a fun abbreviation for poem lover. I'd like to change it but I've had it too long and that's how my FS friends know me.
    Katharine is my first name.
Thank you so much for asking.
reply by Minglement on 24-Jan-2020
Ah, well i actually like that, Katharine. Thanks for sharing ;)

I appreciated:
the single-minded devotion to the activity of the day
the large font (I don't see so well any more, and blank on a lot of entries because of tiny letters or lack of contrast
The element of the unknown (at least to me - who is Tim Conway and his father)

Do you use Google to look up things? If so, type in Tim Conway sketches, or You-tube Tim Conway. He is a comedian who has mastered the walk of old people. And I just meant by his father, for the reader to picture me even older.
Thanks for reading. I hope you do see Tim Conway - he's hysterical.

I work all day on the computer using google as a reference. I try to avoid it at night. Bad habit I know, but...
PS I am KathErine not KathArine - I think there are two of us on the site

I respect your word count. Appreciate the large bold font. It sounds a lot like my typical day. Except I don't go BONK at the desk I am in my easy chair trying to think about what I am going to write next. Good work.

    thank you.
If I were in an easy chair, my head would fall to the side and I'd get a crick in my neck. Ya think I should stop writing into the wee hours? :)

My head just flops forward. I see them people on TV writing in bed. I'ddddddddd.

Yes indeed--it's very much like that isn't it? Writing is a great thing to fill your day and turn off the bloody news. I especially understand and appreciate the ending. It's like that too. Well done in 100 words.

This amused me.
Just wondering whether the bonk is the sound of your head hitting the desk or you got lucky? I guess you're not telling... and it's none of my business.

    hitting head on desk!
Am so out of the young person's loop, that the work bonk meaning getting lucky never occurred to me, Lisa. that's funny.

Haha - 'bonking' is a British term. Now just to be really naughty, you could have had a bonk on the desk!
