That was a lovely poem, Yvette. As young children we accept things as they are. God is there, Jesus, the angels are watching over us, it's all just simple truth. As we grow, so we question. Argue the answers. As we grow older still we go searching for truth, knowing it already but not quite willing to give in to it. Then comes the time we are children again, we know. And that is it, we just know that it is the truth. Your poem was so touching, my friend. Well done and good luck in the contest. :) Sandra xxx

Thanx so much for stopping by on this one, Sandra -- you know, I'm not one for the 'preaching', but I do think faith is a deeply personal thing that is part of us as we 'travel' life's highways... :) :) Take care, my friend and have a great weekend! ;) Yvette

You describe so well the many phases of our faith as we go from child-like innocence to a fierce need for reason in a time of great change and discordance. I especially resonated with this line:
And all of them
weigh my soul
I reach for prayer
to console...
This is an excellent entry in the contest and I wish you good luck.

Hello Yvette, what a lovely poem - 'Reflections and realizations through life' - perfectly portrayed in this poem. You get my last six, because your words really moved me. I reread to see if there was one stanza that stood out from the rest. I found none! The whole poem reads sincerity and truth in every word. But your final stanza is appropriate. I like a poem I can identify with - this one did. Good Luck - warm regards Dorothy xxx

That's such a beautiful poem that perfectly represents faith. I love the way you wrote the poem but also the changing of colors of the letters. It made it really fun to read.

The last verse, 'yet on my knees deep in prayer, I re'lize angels are still there...,' brings this delightful poem to a great close. Good luck in the contest and thank you for sharing.

Love the flow and rhyme in this read, yes through our years, we start off with no idea or belief, then race around not needing the belief, then we pray for the belief as years go on, an excellent poem for this prompt, best wishes for you****kahpot

This is a lovely addition to the faith contest. It reads almost like a flash back on a life-time of someone. I believe in Angels, but sometimes I wonder when they will show up. When we need them or when we don't? Anyways, good luck in your contest. xoxo Kiwi

This has thoughts about what praying in faith meant when very young, a teen, an older teen, and now a grown-up. Favorite lines: And all of them
weigh my soul,
I reach for prayer
to console...
This is a super entry for the Faith Poetry contest. I think I would just leave 're'lize' as 'realize' in the last line.

The artwork you selected is mesmerizing and your matching colors in the text intensifies the mood. I admired your concise, rhymed quatrains and your ability to keep the angels near throughout the years. Best wishes in the Faith Poetry Contest- Joan
