An excellent tribute to those who put themselves in harm's way to help strangers. It's a marvelous vocation rather than an occupation. My husband's niece is a fire fighter and we know how hard she trains to stay in shape and handle equipment while wearing heavy protective gear.
I'm so pleased you composed this nonet in their honour.

Hello Pat, I don't think that our first responders will ever get enough credit for their heroics. I don't think it's possible. I think we could give them a weekly celebration and with what some of them go through, it still wouldn't come close. :)

Hi Patricia. Thank you for composing a nonet poem in honor of our often unsung heroes, our first responders, in tragedies of all kinds. Good job. Marilyn

Patricia, This is a very nice and very well written reverse Nonet poem you have penned about the first responders. They are heroes and they need a hero too. The most amazing and greatest hero for us all is Jesus Christ. Thanks for sharing. I love the picture you used. love and blessings, teri

A very well-written reversed Nonet about the first responders on the rescue that often only get home late at night after everyone us rescued and we can honor them for their heroic actions

Thank you Patricia for honoring the first responders that show up when the tragedy is still new, raw and they see the worst. I commend your for this lovely honor you are bestowing on them. A lovely verse!!

Excellent work, first responders do not get enough praise. Without them where would we be. They put their own lives above ours, and it baffles me how sometimes people take pot shots at them.

An excellent and creatively crafted poem extolling the virtues and sacrifice of first responders.
Each and every day, first responders of all types rise to the top in performance of their duties.
My hat's off to all first responders and I am also very proud that in former occupation, I spent quite a few years in military police work.
Proud moments.

So true. They are heroes, always doing what they can to save a life even if it means risking their own lives, putting themselves in harm's way. Your poem is well-written with a great message behind it. Your artwork is perfect for the poem. Reminds us of the lives lost on that horrific day.
