Wonderful, What If syndrome on retirement
.
-Great job at examining the issues, reasons and personal motivations that pave the road to indecision about retirement.
-All the what ifs actually may have a positive adverse effect with readers and instead insight to begin questioning what if we do not see the benefits and the opportunities of retirement for our health and well being. Was this your intention'. If so, a very interesting way to broach the topic by presenting sad alternatives,
-Hopefully a couple points may be of help:
-It is preferable to write out numbers in full: Three hundred and sixty-five
-Old couples that seem to be the life of the party, instead of seems
-... in the area and wondering at the same time, instead of in the same time.
-I am supposed to relax and enjoy the view, I always end up thinking about, instead of think about.
A very lovely story, thought provoking, shining with humour and wit. Hope the suggestions for corrections you requested meet with your approval. Thanks for these perspectives on retirement. All the best to you.

When anyone used the 'what if' statement, our dowsing teacher said, "Take that out of the air. " People do bring themselves down & awake at night with 'what if's' A good topic.

Beautifully penned and real at an older age because you discover all the unknown diseases that you had never heard in your life time. It's obsessive throughout its funny situational hammering subject. Great provocative thought.Do take care of yourself!

You can 'What if' till the end of time and will find no answer. So do today all that you can do and do it to the best of your ability and you will find that you will forget your 'What if's'.

Thanks Rikki, this book is about a wish to retire, because in reality I will be 100 and I will be allowed to retire...in my urn
-
I do not want to stay in the urn I want to be sprinkled in the Gulf of Mexico where I worked for three decades.

I think this is an interesting story/chapter.
One thing, the line: "- where I can do...", should this read, "-what can I do..."?
Otherwise, well done.

When I go ON my trips. Must have figured out. Perhaps the fear of approaching old age is bugging you? I'm 74 and think about going upstairs! 'available psychiatrists' actually, anxiety over 'what if' can make you ill. Change it to 'whatever will be, will be.' Life isn't all about money. Can you join in some craft groups or become a volunteer? Lots of people hurting out there. Love, Kay.

The bible has some marvellous advice about faith, trust and not worrying about worrying about what the future will bring, IT HASN'T HAPPENED YET, and unless you are an oracle, it can be a self-fulfilling prophecy. Jesus said, "don't worry about will tomorrow will bring, God still provides, one has enough problems today."
All I can say is...quit worrying, it's wasted time. Well done Iza, blessings, Roy Typo : And even when I('m) supposed to relax. 2: He must have figure(d) out retirement...

This is an interesting take on retirement. I think we all worry if we will be able to actually retire and have enough money to cover the things we need and want. I love the doctor's answer to your question. So typical. They never worry if you have the means to do as instructed or not.
p.s. If English is your third language then you are amazing. You write it better than many natives.

I just retired this past July, pardon my french, screw the "what if's". I guess I'm like your husband, it's not that I don't care, but that's in the future. We'll deal with when it gets here. I love this well-written story.
Good luck in the contest!
Have a great day and God bless.
