You have a wonderful sense of humor. I enjoyed reading this light piece of dialogue-only banter -- an argument with yourself, was it (albeit imaginary)? Counting at 8 months, Einstein's theory of relativity at 8 weeks, very impressive! Well written.

You are having a lot of fun with this one, Sal! Thanks for sharing a well known situation between contestants and reviewers. But you put in a lot of comedy as well. Best wishes in the contest!

Okay, you got me: it could be between two 'FanStorians', but it actually sounds like it's someone arguing with themself..? ;) :) LOL! :) ;) Either way, it's really funny as it does highlight a number of things that have been 'glaring' lately so, good on ya, Lady Sal!! The originality is strong with this one, young padawan!! ;) :) wink, wink.. ;) Thanx for sharing and best of luck!! ;) :) Yvette

You did a great job with your contest entry, Sally. Your dialogue sounds natural, and you adhered to the rules. Your title is interesting, too. I know there are many on-line references, as you mentioned, too. However, one needs to use the one that Fan Story uses--which is??? I like your image choice--a good pairing with your fun, but many times true, story. Thanks for sharing and best wishes. Respectfully with Love and Admiration, Jan.

Thank you for the wonderful review and comments. I put the one I use in my comments. I'm not sure what FanStory recommends as a syllable counter. I've never heard a particular one spoken of or implied. :) Let me know what I missed if any. (I've had three Nonets nominated so I must be doing okay.) The like the accidential poet.

I was intrigued by your title plus parallel, artwork select selection, and your dialog matched it. What a perfect story about our FanStory experience! Best wishes in the competition- Joan

This made me chuckle, Sally. The argument is just so reminiscent of some interchanges on Fanstory and beyond. Actually you introduce a fraught subject, plagiarism. But you do it with a light touch that nonetheless makes a big impact. All of us value our integrity. The urge to win can put this at risk so we need to listen to the voice of our conscience or to friends who speak as that voice.

By the way I loved how you inserted the bragging as well. Oh dear, sometimes ego takes control. :-))

My dear friend I do wish you the best in the contest with this exceptional entry.

Blessings Julia

I'm glad you love the silly side of me, too. I am on a writing retreat this week devoting myself to my craft. I'm glad you're enjoying this satire. I am deeply honored by the six stars and sincere compliments. You make me want to write even more!!!

-I saw the title and
had to read this, Sally.
-There is something about
syllables that appeals to me,
even a story about them!
-I loved the artwork and
the dialogue; it was very funny.
-I love how you start with the
quote from "My Fair Lady," and
insist you have 9 syllables for
the nonet contest!
-Your counterpart challenges that
with some witty remarks, and you
come right back, like the bit
about you both knew when infants
and toddlers.
-I thought it was hilarious as you
continue on about the contest
and how badly you wanted to win.
-Good luck in the contest!!

Yes, one duty of a true friend is to try to keep a friend from making a mistake -- especially a costly one. That's what "designated drivers" are for. Accordingly, this humorous dialog is plausible as possibly occurring in person between friends who both are FanStory members. Hence, the ultimate threat is fewer than five stars in a review. Well done, and aptly illustrated.

Sally, I like this humorous entry with some Fanstory humor for the dialogue only contest. Those four-star reviews are rough. Thank you so much for not giving me one.
