It is said that our entropy of the world increases with time. I believe it it is so in your room of reminiscing and in all things. The longer we remember, the deeper the understanding.
Sending you my best today for this introspective poem as always. This is so uniquely you and artfully illustrated.
Sending you my best today as always and blessings for the new year,
Sally xo

Hello Doug,
Remembrances are as real as objects to the one remembering them
and also have the advantage of being portable. They go with us to
each place along the journey, and, yes, they can change the light
from glare to halo.
I suppose that's why dates, markers in time, as well as places have
such power.
Excellent poem.
Best wishes and reminises to you
Robert

I do like the meter of this. I could breathe between lines and the simple lines made me think. Sometimes we overthink poetry. Memories are like that. Your poem was very enjoyable. Thank you for posting. Gretchen

A very well-written poem about memories of images of the past come back to the mind every time when we start to relax. We suddenly realize everything worked together to get us where we are.

Your poem is obscure and deeply personal, as reminiscences always are. Our personal space will cocoon us as we wish.
"Happiness resides within my room as I sit with abstractions and brush": are you an artist?

You are very welcome, and thanks for sharing. A lot of poets are now sharing their own art. I cannot paint or draw anything, but I love writing about them. I have one about a painting to post in the near future. If you are interested, I will let you know.

Hello, I don't mind if you write it that way, sometimes rules are meant to be broken. A lovely whimsical poem. No errors and it floated down the page, a melancholy poem about the past and its affect on the 'now'. Your room offers you solace, and I found that an appropriate image in the end lines. The poet serenely brushing. Nice job with this one, Eve.

Our memories are forever with us and we are reminded of them by the objects in our room and when we are alone we flash back to times we enjoy remembering, much enjoyed, love Dolly x

You are allowed to take artistic liberties. Very nice reminiscences can quell the loneliness or emptiness at times. We can't erase what is engraved in our minds, we can only hope to enjoy what we remember.
