Thanks for sharing and making a moment in my day to stop and read and reflect on something totally different than my work day. Your work is a gift. I like your rebel coming through in "reminisces." ;)

Victor--I'm not a poet, so can only comment on things I like. Your post is one of those. I loved, "Only the past lingers ever present". Why did I like it? Because for many reasons that has been my world today. Nicely written and beautifully presented!

Thank you for sharing your reflections about the past with us. I am pleased they are happy memories and also involve your "abstractions and brush". Keep following your creative impulse- Joan

Good job Doug. In my estimation...one of your best and still much like e. e. cummings. I liked the last few lines in particular of c ourse:
"Happiness resides
within my room
as I sit
with abstractions and brush"
Amen. :) Bob

Bob, you are always kind to me. I do believe you are sincere about e. e. cummings. But, Lord, that is a high compliment. Thank you. Doug Semper Fidelis? or did I get it wrong?
-
Thanks Doug. Semper Fidelis is correct "always faithful" in Latin

To remember is a wonderful thing. To have good memories is even better. You can change what you decide to change as it is an author's privilege. I like this free verse.

This piece comes across as very powerful. You did an excellent job at truly portraying the past as something not forgotten, at least that's what I got from this poem. Great job!

Thanks for sharing this lovely poem. I thought you did a great job and I loved the words "Images
of forlorn order
layer themselves
with dense entropy". Wow, great piece of work.

You are the author, you do it your way! I liked this poem a lot, you do what you want in the room you love as it is, and that is fine. I love the picture, it goes really well with your poem. Well done. :)) Sandra xx
