This poem from a pet's point of view is priceless. It denotes just how we do become slaves to our pets. Their every move is analyzed and reacted to. Wow! When it's in writing it hits home. The parting, however, is so sad when that final day comes. Well done.

Oh, LisaMay, if I'm reading this correctly, I am so sorry to hear about your sweet companion... lost mine a couple of years ago and it took a few months before I was ready to 'find' another (we ended up with a pair of sisters some one was 'getting rid of'). This is such a lovely life-long story you have written so, if it's not true, you have poured some real heart into it to make seem real!! ;) :) Yvette

I enjoyed your sweet tribute to your cat companion. I have lived with many cats over the years and remember them all with fondness. Each had a distinct personality. Peter enjoyed watching TV. Tigger loved climbing trees. Mookie loved to cuddle with me. JN had been taught to use the toilet by a previous owner! Sally was the hunter who brought us many gifts, including a live fruit bat.

This is a nice tribute poem but from the point of view of the former pet cat. I like the idea of being a 'soft touch' as a little furry feline companion. Here are some particularly touching lines: Here she is now, she'll stroke my ears
and snuggle my fur to blot her tears.

It's funny how a cat can make us do crazy things. All for a pet and a purr. This poem is wonderfully written, and I love the picture. I wish I had a six. Best of luck with your writing!

Hey, I will choose the loyal love and affection of a feline friend any day over a man. At a bridal shower I overheard the future groom say "Now that you've got your man, you can get rid of the cats." Guess who would have gotten his ring back if I were the future bride! Thanks for sharing your love story. I am and always will be a crazy cat lady...

This poem about your furry, cuddly cat is sweet and adorable. I thought slavery was abolished with the Emancipation Proclamation (at least in the U.S.) but I guess that doesn't apply to feline slaveholders, lol... besides he had you hoodwinked, to think that HE was YOUR pet!
I'm wondering if that's an actual photo of your cat, who brought you some awesome gifts from outside (*barf*) but still, very loving and generous, RIP, little kitty, very well done, describes a beautiful relationship!
