LOL! I like this one. Very clever. Good play on words. "gnu ze-bra" is hilarious as is "menagerie-a-trois." Will await your next series. Good job. Marilyn

Lisa, Please do not monkey around with our feelings. We are birds of a feather and it is hard to snake your way into our site and try to impress us with your various marriage partners. Ha Ha!

Life with a zookeeper smacks of beastiality, but what doesn't? Things are wild at Orson's house. Putting the cat out requires a whip and chair. My mom always told me to please don't feed th3 animals.

I'm not into smacking or whips. It's beast you play nice. My mum would have a stroke if we had pets like that.

Hi, Lisa May. I enjoyed all of this, but I laughed out loud on "Let's hiss and snake up." You definitely had some of your better puns in this ("meerkat or dog," "gnu ze-bra"). Overall, another excellent story.

Thanks Michele! It is interesting hearing from readers which story appeals to them. (I already know you really don't like the bad language references.)
Writing these stories has sharpened up my brain for agile wordplay - a bit like mental gymnastics.

I was actually only kidding when I chided you about the language. Any ?off color? comments have all been in context and added to the puns, so nothing was gratuitous. I?m sorry for making you think I felt otherwise.
You know I prefer the ones with more puns because I have pun conversations with my husband and my sister. This is nothing out of the ordinary for me. Like you, I?m a huge fan of mental gymnastics.

I'm not sure how you come up with the all the zoo words that work as the normal words, but I think it is quite a feat! Good job on knowing what is humorous to the reader, too. "Let's hiss and snake up," is my favorite line. Another good one! What're you gonna do when these are done?:)

Living with a zookeeper could make your animal instinct become confused. One day he purrs like a cat and the next he roars like a lion. He has to quit lioning to himself and get with the program!'

Haha, I love that this one is about the animals, those are my favorite ones. As far as I can see so far, this one is as fun and as innovative as the other ones. I loved it.

A very well-written fifty-word romantic commentary. The zoo keeper will be a challenge to compete with all his beloved animals he looked and care for each day.

Poor Kitty! I think she needs to draw the line about how much work Orson can bring home. And with all that work one would think that he could be "lion around."

There are those who love those animals - fanatically. I've known a couple of them - volunteered at the zoo for years. A young friend who worked with Sigfried and Roy and the white tigers. It takes certain people. You describe well the ups and downs of this occupation. Cute.
